People are what matters in the Army. Sexual Harassment interferes with fostering an atmosphere filled with integrity, honor, dignity, team work and unit cohesion. It violates standards of integrity and impartially expected in today’s Army. Obscene language, derogatory remarks and profane behavior are not sexy, humorous, or appealing in any way. Sexual Harassment is an unacceptable behavior and will not be tolerated under any circumstances-none! Sexual Harassment is defined as unwelcomed sexual advances, requests for sexual favors and other verbal or physical conduct of a sexual nature when any of the following occur: Submission to or rejection of such conduct is made either explicitly or implicitly, a term or condition of a person’s job, pay or career. Submission to or rejection of such conduct by a person is used as a basis for career or employment decisions affecting that person.…show more content…
Sexual Harassment undermines mission accomplishment by creating a hostile work environment filled with selfish individuals or valueless groups. It impairs morale and interferes with productivity by stifling initiative of victims. The act and conduct of Sexual Harassment is an abhorrent and illegal behavior. It is a violation of human rights of others and will not be tolerated! Everyone, to include Leaders and Soldiers, in the company have an obligation to each other as ‘Warrior Teammates’ to ensure our work environment is free of Sexual Harassment and immediate corrective action by reporting those within our ranks who have allegations against them. Elimination of Sexual Harassment in our formation takes vigilance and good leadership to educate, correct and report matters concerning Sexual Harassment. Only you can prevent Sexual Harassment in our ranks. Only you can detect and deter those who violate this
