ARMY PREVENTION OF SEXUAL HARASSMENT PROGRAM Throughout this essay I will describe what the Army Prevention of Sexual Harassment Program or POSH defines as sexual harassment. I will also describe how the Army Prevention of Sexual Harassment Program or POSH benefits the United States Army and the United States Army soldier. Sexual assault and or rape are extreme forms of physical sexual harassment. They are both very serious criminal acts in the United States Army, and they both have very serious consequences through the Uniformed Code of Military Justice or UCMJ. The Army Prevention of Sexual Harassment Program or POSH benefits the United States Army by educating United States Army soldiers and civilian employees about sexual harassment. United States Army soldiers and civilian employees alike, must understand what sexual harassment is, how to recognize it, how to prevent it, how to report it, and the consequences of engaging in sexual harassment of any form when it is not welcome. It should also focus on how to ensure that the United States Army unit in which they are assigned is being properly trained and educated on sexual harassment according to The Army Prevention of Sexual Harassment Program or POSH guidelines. The Army Prevention of Sexual Harassment Program or POSH outlines that the United States Army unit training or professional development training for senior noncommissioned officers, warrant officers, officers, civilian managers and senior executive service personnel should focus on consequences for the sexual harassment offenders.
