Scientific Method is a procedure consisting of a series of steps with the goal of problem-solving and information-gathering (ehow.com). As adults we go through situations that require us to use scientific method on a daily basis. Whether it's done on a conscience or sub-conscience leave, scientific method does help. The scientific methods are divided into a several steps to support problem solution. With out using identify the problem, formulating a hypothesis, experimenting, and data analysis, it's nearly impossible to receive and acquire result.(sciencentlinks.com) . Most recently I utilized the scientific method to help me solve some of my hair care issues. I identified that during the winter months, my hair becomes very dry and is susceptible to breakage. There are over thousand hair care product on the market, that proclaim the help with dry hair. Some my plan became clear, which one of those product help me achieve better hair? So I decided to do some research online, read some hair care books and I even consulted with a hair dresser. Through out my research I discovered that it's best to maintain the proper balance of PH to strengthen hair. I recall back to high school durning chemistry class, that pH is an abbreviation for potential hydrogen. A pH number measures from 0 to14 how acidic or alkaline. If a liquuid had a pH above 7 it's alkaline and anything below 7 is acid. Water has a pH level of 7 it's neutral, meaning it has the same amount of acids and alkalis, which balance each other out. Hair is made up mainly of proteins and is pretty strong stuff. However, chemical processes can weaken your hair and cause it to break. Human hair has a pH the 4.5 to 5.5 (luvnaturals.com) and depending if a hair care product has to much alkaline or is to acidic, your hair will reacts differently.
