Lake Huron is one of the Great Lakes and a major part of our fresh water system, which contains many wildlife and species. The lake however, is in a real danger, adversely effecting habitats, fish, wildlife, and human lives. Lake Huron has become a dumping ground for many companies, dumping waste that contains many pollutants. Bacteria levels have increased in the lake which can cause serious illness. These pollutants have reduced water quality, contaminated soils, and damaged the Lake’s ecosystems.
There are many disadvantages to hard engineering that can effect not only the environment but people. The main disadvantages to hard engineering are that for one they are very aesthetically displeasing to some people and can take up a vast amount of room. Two, they are incredibly expensive for the amount that is usually used. Another problem is that if a sea wall breaks during a storm then the effects of that storm will seem a lot worse just like in river’s where if a levee breaks during a flood the effects are a lot worse. Another thing with hard engineering, going back to the costs is that not all of the countries in the world can afford to have hard engineering management strategies.
Because people don't dispose of the plastic bags properly they get into water ways which eventually affect the see life as well as all other animals and living organisms including plants. Chemicals are released in the air causing harm to everyone and everything. The plastic ends up around animals or plants causing suffocation and stress to the living, which results to death. Plastic bags have become such a huge problem because of the large amount of plastic bags on earth. If you were in charge, what plan might you propose to reduce or eliminate their use?
According to Everglades.org, they’ve “contributed to nearly 70 percent of extinctions in the United States” and are the “primary cause of species endangerment.” The water itself is a major cause of decline to the area, firstly because of poor water management leading to water levels being too low or too high at the wrong times has caused a decline in many species. Secondly, poor water quality has had devastating consequences. The pollution and an abundance of toxins and nutrients has helped to kill off many living things in the
Food shortages were spreading throughout and people were easily getting susceptible to sickness and disease. Also harsh winters, long periods of rainfall and wet seasons deceased the production of food. It was a chain reaction of unfortunate events. There was no food, people were not eating, they were getting sick and dying at a rapid pace and very soon a plague would eventually kill more. This was a tough time
People excrete wastes and litter that flow into water systems, and animal habitats, this is slowly polluting water and killing wildlife. And the more the population grows the more wasted were going to produce and cause pollution and damage to the environment. More housing and buildings being built means that were building over were habitats live, the loss of these forests leads to extinction of plants and animals. Also more people means that more goods (like clothes, TVs etc) are wanted, more jobs are needed so more factories are being built witch is affecting out air pollution, which eventually is destroying out atmosphere. Also more food is required so more intensive farming methods are used.
Aquatic Invertebrates: Adaptations and Feeding Guilds INTRODUCTION Global warming and human's authoritative influence on the environment such as deforestation, pollution etc. are taking a bad toll on the diversity of the ecosystem. Global warming which has brought about increase in the temperatures is disturbing the natural cycle of the ecosystem. This has brought upon an increased droughts throughout the world. The droughts and increased heat has had negative impacts on local aquatic invertebrates.
Klamath Crisis In 2001, the Klamath water crisis occurred in the Klamath region of Southern Oregon. For the first time, the Endangered Species Act caused a large scale restriction of water delivery from a federal project. Although this action became highly controversial after the scientific basis upon which this decision was made was criticized, it was clear that the challenges facing the basin needed to be dealt with. For decades water demand had outstripped supply, irrigation methods were inefficient and the ecosystem was in a state of total degradation. Farmers, Indian tribes and environmentalists all were fighting for the water and for their ideal of what life in the Klamath Basin should look like.
I think you may notice the water problem in California already. This year, California is experiencing the severe drought, which caused many problems related. The primary problems is about the war of water definitely. (Habboub, 2014) Because of the shortage of water, there are more regulations about water, which contributes many inconveniences to people’s daily life. At the same time, this also leads to the increases of living expense for people living in California.
Environment problem is a biggest problem that exist all countries around the world. Many countries, the environment are being polluted. Some countries haven’t found the solution to solve the environment problem yet. Like in Cambodia, the environment is being made worse day by day. Deforestation is the one of environment problems in Cambodia.
