The Benefits of Horseback Riding “Horses lend us the wings we lack.” –Pam Brown. That quote is particularly true when it comes to individuals with disabilities. Horseback riding uses horses as therapy for both the mind and the body. People that have been diagnosed with autism, attention deficit disorder, and other physical disabilities are more likely to struggle with communication, but if you pair them with a horse, they can achieve so many great things. Horseback riding is a great activity for people with disabilities, because it helps improve muscle strength, communication, and socialization.
“Windsurfing” “Windsurfing” by David Solway is simply a poem about a windsurfer’s experience from beginning to end. Surprisingly, the speaker is not the windsurfer, but is the author himself. It is a very positive poem, which makes it so enjoyable and easy to read. Solway uses many images in the poem. The images he uses connect to almost all of our senses, making the readers feel like they are experiencing the ride for themselves.
It's also fun, and according to NutriStrategy, burns a lot of calories - significantly more than brisk walking.” (Bigelow) You’d be forgiven for wondering but stair climbing can have a significant and positive impact on an individual’s health over time. Unlike walking, which humans have evolved to do while burning minimal amounts of energy, stair climbing is classed as a ‘vigorous’ physical activity and burns more calories per minute than jogging. The benefits of regular physical activity are well documented and include: • Improved cardiovascular fitness • A stronger musculoskeletal system •
Motorcyclists are at a higher risk for injury due to the absence of safety features. Universal helmet laws will have the greatest impact for the increased use of helmets and decrease in motorcycle crash injuries and death. The audience for this paper would be motorcyclists, anyone interested in health care costs, and motorists interested in road safety. Motorcyclists safety enthusiasts understand the risks and advocate the use of helmets for all riders. Having the support from motorcyclists would not only encourage helmet use, but also encourage the need for universal helmet laws.
The most helpful thing to do when I’m stressed is to go for a jog with my dog, or even by myself and all the stress is relieved with every step I take. Lastly is music. Music is a very helpful and easy way to manage your stress. Just put on your favorite tunes and let them take your mind off of things. For me, if I’m stressing and I can’t go for a jog or do some yoga, I’ll just put some happy music on and then I seem to forget about what was stressing me out in the first place.
That is why it was extremely important to obtain the characteristics of efficiency, organization, communication, and stability. Without these vital characteristics I would not have acquired the important qualities of responsibility and the skill of time management. England was the reward I received from my Uncle Clayton for recognition of my hard work and accomplishments. My Uncle influenced my life in a positive way, which contributed to the growth of my most important qualities. Knowing I could have the chance to go to England motivated me to do my best every day and to strive for success within myself.
A picture perfect beauty. Much like Ansel, nature is therapeutic to me. When I am in a foul mood the best thing for me to do is to go to the river, lake, park or just take a walk, taking in the natural beauty that surrounds me and just breathe. It calms me down and makes me feel better. Although I would not have agreed with this statement ten years ago.

There are world-class hiking trails throughout the city as well for the more adventurous types. The most popular areas to hike are located in Chautauqua Park. Many of the trails start at the Western edge of the city, while others are a short drive away. The trails vary in difficulty: some are quite easy while there are some that are technically challenging. Many athletes, recreational runners, and cyclists make use of these difficult courses at this breath-taking altitude to train more efficiently than those who would train at sea level or lower elevations.
It was the morning of the first day at the Arizona Amateur open; I was confident but very nervous especially watching riders practice. Laying the bike totally sideways over each jump was not common to see at local races but it was as if every single rider here was able to do that. The first moto approached quickly and sitting on the gate lined up next to 40 loud bikes, race gas filled the air, you could hear each and every riders bike be put into gear. While sitting at the starting gate you can see the white old looking 30 second sign being raised letting you know that the gate would be dropping very soon, the 4 stroke engines get louder as the riders prepare for the takeoff. The gate had dropped and the nervousness was no longer there.
