Medical marijuana Ashley Doggett Kaplan College comp CM109-20 Benjamin Andrews August 8, 2010 Medical marijuana This paper will be on medical marijuana. There are studies that are either using or exploring the usage of medical marijuana. This paper will inform the reader of the states and studies that are using medical marijuana, the one state that is trying to make marijuana legal, what the FDA has to say about it, and how medical marijuana also has boosted the economy. Along with some of the side effects marijuana has on an individual person. Fifteen states have approved medical marijuana even though it is banded federally. The states are Alaska, California Colorado, Hawaii, Maine, Maryland, Michigan, Montana, Nevada,…show more content…
Many people do not want it to be legal in their states because they are afraid of the gangs that come with the drugs. In fact, there are so many enraged people, upset with the locations of marijuana dispensers, in Los Angeles that they are shutting down more than 400 medical marijuana dispensers (Wood, 2010). Some were close to schools, churches, and parks had brought complaints from neighbors for attracting gangs and criminal elements (Wood, Los Angeles cuts back on medical marijuana dispensaries., 2010). Under new law there are only to be 70 medical marijuana dispensers.
