To get better, one must first go through obstacles, and surely as the obstacles get bigger, the reward gets better as well. Colleges and universities are one of the platforms for a better life, and in order to get the best result, one must first make the right choice. As Brodi Ashton states in her book Everneath. (Ashton, 2013).‘Heroes are made by the paths they choose, not the powers they are graced with’. Decisions are not things that you should look upon lightly because not everything that glitters is gold. Analyzing your options is the key towards planning, and these options should be scoured in detail. To start off, there are two types of universities in Malaysia which can be classified as public and private universities. Contrasting figures they are, but yet public and private universities also have their commonalities. Higher learning institutions can be found scattered all over Malaysia. Regardless of whether they are public or private universities, the same level of education is offered. To elaborate, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UITM) is biggest public university in Malaysia, and just like the other public universities, UITM provide a continuum of courses ranging from diplomas to doctoral courses. Similar to public universities, private universities also provide these courses. Although relatively, private universities usually have fewer fields of courses to offer, they also provide doctoral courses to lots of majors. Most people assume that private colleges offer a higher standard of certificates, and that their graduates are more marketable. This is no more than just a myth.
