As a whole, the class had to read the book named "The Christmas Carol" by Charles Dickens. After completing the task of reading 'The Christmas Carol", the next thing that was required of us was to write an essay on the book. The Shakespeare book I read for freshman year was Julius Caesar. Writing an essay for this type of book was difficult because of the type of literature it was but as I did my research it became much easier. As I continued in high school, we had to read "A Gathering of Old Men" by Ernest Gaines and "When I Was a Puerto Rican" by Esmeralda Santiago over the summer and write what was required of us.
Confirmation to support this is when David reveals "did I wonder what might happen if I killed my uncle". David managed to see some good in people including his father. Watson demonstrates the life of David Hayden growing up, and realizing later what a great role model he had in his father. David saw his father as a weak man and he thought his perfect role model was Frank, which is seen as he said "not manly figure like uncle Frank". He felt let down in his father, as he didn't arrest anyone or carry a gun, "And that disappointed me at times".
Compare the ways the poets show how relationships can affect people in ‘Les Grand Seigneurs’ and one other poem from character and voice (Medusa) In both poems the narrators have been changed for the worst by men, specifically their partner. This is clear from the poet’s use of metaphors in Les Grand Seigneurs making the speakers life seem admirable and happy before she got married, first she describes men as ‘rocking horses’ and ‘hurdy gurdy monkey men’ making her relationships with them seem light hearted and playful. Whereas after getting marred things change ‘overnight’ and she becomes ‘a bit of fluff’ and isn’t as desired or honoured as she once was. Similarly in Medusa as the narrator’s relationship becomes more serious she can feel herself changing and becomes paranoid and doubting of her partner and his loyalty to her. The poet uses sibilance between her ‘filthy snakes’ as hair and the hissing and spitting of her thoughts to exaggerate the link between the Greek goddess (associated with snakes) and the speaker.
Both his actions and thoughts showed how jealous he was of Finny. The traits Phineas possessed were a major cause of the envy. Gene let his jealously overcome him, and ended up seriously injuring his “best friend”. To begin, Gene wanted Finny’s way of smooth-talking. There were many times when Phineas did something wrong and simply talked his way out of it.

They keep losing their jobs because of Lennie, so they keep moving and getting new jobs. The small intelligent one, George, just tells everyone that Lennie was kicked by a horse when he was younger, although he is just M.H. George complains about how much better off he would be without Lennie frequently. Even though they are very good friends, George and Lennie have many differences.

One of Mr. Bostwicks many mantras he has us memorize is something I think really helps me and it goes a little something like this “ words make up phrases and clauses, phrases and clauses makes sentences, sentences makes paragraphs, and paragraphs makes composition.” Altogether I give mister Bostwick my SEAL of approval. I think I have done something pretty amazing in this essay I have summed up my high school English career into a 2 pages. I have had my troubles in the past. I have my troubles now. I have had a great year with Mr. Bostwick.
And try to stay invisible “He is a great father who has been struggling his life to earn some good money and wants best for his son called Luis Galindo. Carlos Galindo has presented himself as a great father. Like other parents, he wants to give best for his son. Carlos was always concerned about his son.
Wesley lives under the shadow of his brother Frank and as the story progresses he is slowly escaping it. However, despite Wesley’s wilted physique and lack of superiority in the Hayden family hierarchy, he possesses a great deal of moral virtue and mental strengths. First of all, Wesley’s leg injury leads to other factors to develop Wesley as a better and stronger man. In his life he goes through many obstacles, such as his failure to go to war, and thus becoming the underdog of the Hayden family. This is discovered when the patriarch, Julian Hayden, says to his son Wesley “Ever since the war…Ever since Frank came home in a uniform and you stayed home, you’ve been jealous” (118).
