I have chosen to write on the short story “waiting for love.” I have chosen this topic because I think it has a life lesson that we all should know. “Aubrey” and “Pot of gold” were both good stories, showing how doing the right things and staying out of trouble can help to have an enjoyable life. Aubrey did the wrong thing by being involved in an affair with a young beautiful lady to which was married to an old rich man that visited the Hotel that Aubrey work at, and they were actually good friends. The tables turned on him when the husband found out and the lady lied and said she was raped. He was sentenced to ten years in prison and received twenty strokes of the cat o’ nine tails. “Pot of gold” was about a bank robbery involving two men Cyril and Jacob. They were eventually caught up with and sentenced to fifteen years in prison. “Peaches on a dilly tree” actually did have a good moral but was boring to me. It was about a young lady falling in love with a young Haitian man. The young lady, Dahlia’s mother was a regular prejudice Bahamian that seem to have something against Haitians. She tried to stop them from getting married but had a sudden change of heart and let things happen. After getting married the couple had a very enjoyable life. All of the stories have one thing in common, they all have life lessons attached to them. They show us that doing the right thing is always the best thing to do. “Waiting for love” is about a young lady named Phyllis who moved from Exuma to Nassau . She worked for Mrs. Russell who was a seamstress, this was a good thing because very few young lady’s got to learn the skills from this talented seamstress. While Phyllis was sent to run some errands for Mrs. Russell , she stumbled upon a young Policeman, Stafford Mcphee. They both took interest in each other and eventually went on many dates and spent a lot of time
