Flashback: It was fifth period – English class. They were doing presentations about their vacation again, like last year and the year before that and the year before that. Dylan was so pumped for the pep rally later. His excitement could be seen at his face: with his smile from cheek to cheek, to the enthusiastic look in his eyes, and his feet that he can’t stop stomping. He was already daydreaming about the activities he would do later on.
I can only imagine how heavy those harnesses are. Another horrendous sound passes through as my Physics teacher finally enters the classroom. He’s taller than the giant in Jack and the Beanstalk. He has all these harnesses around his body that no one can tell whether or not he’s wearing a shirt, literally. Just like every other teacher, he picks out a name from his black hat to pick out a student to answer the first question of the day.
Guess who shot them, U.S. troops. Can you believe! Well I will start from the beginning. Started out as a normal day on campus everyone either trying to make to their class on time or just hanging out until it was time for them to go to their next class. Well in the commons there just happened to be a rally going on and it started to get a little heated well I guess you can say that a little heated is an understatement to the events that took place next.
Up to thirty students had to sit next to each other, dressed up in adult like clothing. With no room to breathe and harsh teacher that would physically punish a student for small misbehavior, children somehow managed to learn more than one language and exceed in
Helekia Brown Composition 1 My Time Spent at the Marine Corp Graduation Helekia Brown Composition 1 Individual Work Week 4 The Marine Corp Graduation actually started off as a Family Day Event. The Family Day Event took place at 10 a.m. in the main gym. While everyone were siting and waiting patiently, we stood up to see the recruits marching in. We all were so happy and excited to see what these recruits were made of. There were five male platoons and two female platoons.
Heroes Phone rings Reverend walks over to the phone and answers Hello reverend peters speaking I’m good thanks for asking, just working a sermon at home. Yes I know Christopher Boone, he’s the one whose mother died a couple of years back. Sitting his maths A, really? I had volunteered before at the YMCA but this was my first time volunteering for a daily summer program. On the first day, I got all spiffed up. I put on my brand new black Nike Dunks, a pair of black Michael Jordan basketball shorts, and topped it all of with a neon pink Nike headband. No doubt I was ready to show off my skills. I strolled into the lobby and greeted a counselor at the front desk.
We ended up having the best dinosaur mural in the class, all the students had a feeling that my groups mural would get the best grade. I couldn’t wait to go home and tell my parents about what had happened in class that day, so I ran home as quick as I could to tell them the news that my groups drawing had gotten the best grade. After telling them the news, I asked my dad if I could join the track team, since he knows how well I’m doing in school. He replies “I guess so, but try not to get hurt”. I replied back, “don’t worry, I’ll be careful, I promise”.
I am so very excited to see them excel in school. My little Evie is three and all she talks about is school, how she cannot wait to go and truthfully I can’t wait for her to go either. You see, once my girls are in school I will be able to go back to work and have adult conversations on a regular basis again. My days of changing dirty diapers, potty training, and watching cartoons all day will be behind me. Then I read the part of Welty’s story where Phoenix has to cross the creek and she said “Now comes the trial”.
Three main reasons for this decline were lack of facilities, uninterested administration, and scheduling. The middle school saw three different principals in six years, and four different assistants. Not a single administrative leader had a desire to see the arts grow. In fact, seven years ago, one administrator took the room designed as a band room, with storage space, practice rooms, office, exterior access for evening rehearsals, and sound-proofing, away from the band and gave it to a math teacher. The band classes were sent to a building away from the main school, in a suite of rooms not designed for music, much less band classes.
