Throughout my life I have been extremely passionate for the game of softball. I've devoted my life to the thrill of the game and to the essence of teamwork that it involves. Every girl on the teams I have played for have become sisters to me. The sense of camaraderie when playing the sport is like nothing else I have ever experienced. Through the screaming, the chanting, the hooting, and the hollering I have been instilled with a fundamental sense of teamwork that is vital to success in any field that I may pursue in the future.
It is obvious that Misty-May Treanor greatly deserves the awards and gold medals she has earned by playing the sport she loves the most. She has definitely put in everything she has into volleyball, and she has a great amount of talent at the sport. In the beginning Jing-mei seems to accept it and become a prodigy when she says “…look forward to my future fame…in the beginning, I was just as excited as my mother” (405-406). After the exposition it is clearer that her mother is pushing her beyond
Amelia’s father, Edwin, remarried and had her little sister. Amelia and her little sister played outside a lot like normal kids do. They liked to play sports with the boys like football and baseball. They liked to collect insects and frogs. She loved her little sister so much and they were best friends.
King Say Show Must Go On When I was a little girl I loved watching one musical on VHS. It was because of this one part, and eventually my VCR ate the tape because I fast-forwarded one time too many. It was the Siamese ballet called “Small House of Uncle Thomas” that sparked my attention. The dancing enthralled me. I loved Poor Little Eva, King Simon, Little Topsy, and Geoooo-rge!.
Overcome with awe and envy I closely watched the greats from both teams warm-ups and do things with the ball that are extremely difficult; they made it look so easy and effortless. Time dwindled and game time was near. My sister and her school choir came out on the stage and began to sing the national anthem. For all my parents and I knew this is what they were really excited for. Yes I admit that it was a pleasure and I was very proud to watch my sister go out there and perform, but as bitter as it sounds, the only thoughts going on in my mind were all amazing plays I was going to the
But most of all I love that around the end of September there are all kinds of haunted mazes and such opening up for business. Knowing that my 15 year old son does not get scared too easily with
Cheerleading is all about competition, teamwork, and dedication and I think that’s why it’s my favorite sport. When I first starting cheering I fell in love with the sport! I learned discipline, teamwork, and trust. Being able to trust my teammates with my life when they throw me in the air is a feeling like no other. My coaches have made me gain confidence and that means the world to me.
Baseball may be the favorite pastime for millions of Americans--for me, it’s my life. A game of strength, skill, and stamina; for me it is also a game of physics and math. One hot game day, I watched parents and supporters cheering at World Series decibels. As we took the field to warm up, I had it all figured out that a win today would put us in the history books. While others busied themselves throwing and catching, I thought about how I was going to work with Mr. Newton’s laws--of inertia, of acceleration, and of reaction--in my pitching, and was determined not to let him down.
Narration A famous New York Yankee once said “Baseball was, is, and always will be to me the best game in the world” (Ruth). Babe Ruth had a love for baseball similar to the love I have for the game. I was ten years old when I went to my first major league baseball game. A baseball game is simply a nervous breakdown divided into nine innings. The experience was clamorous, pungent, and intense.
