This does not mean that parents have no rights to what happens to their child while they are at school but this allows school to guide student behaviors though discipline. This idea is called in loco parentis (pg. 378). This concept was once more important in schools than it is now but it has brought forth it idea that no matter the student, disabled or not, there needs to be a certain level of responsibility put on all students for their behaviors when they are at school. This would be a great chapter of the book for parents to read because it would help them to understand why the school is doing what it is doing.
According to Marszalek, the Petticoat Affair was “the most famous debate over the meaning of womanhood in American history” (p. 21). Throughout this book, John F. Marszalek tries to prove that the Petticoat Affair was a social struggle based on the traditional roles of women and the beliefs of society, and not as much of a political crisis. Margaret “Peggy” Eaton was the child of an Innkeeper. She was raised as being part of conversation and socializing with her father’s guests, and had an outspoken personality.
The next major role in Persepolis would be Marjane’s friends. Marjane’s friends are what helped to give Marjane further insight to how the regime had affected the people that were not fortunate enough to leave the country like she had. This only becomes apparent when Marjane returns to her home country online to find that her friends still were trapped in the old mind set despite their outward appearances. Lastly are Marjane’s parents who encouraged her to think for herself. This was the final ingredient in making Marjane the headstrong person that she appeared to be in the book.
Dylan LeVine Professor Amber Day LCS 121A February 9, 2012 Yin and Yang Identity is an aspect of one’s life that must be formed on one’s own and not solely on the words or actions of others. The people around us can help build our identity, but is us who have to truly find ourselves. Two Kinds is narrated by Jing Mei Woo, a young girl whose mother pushes her to become a “prodigy child”. At first she liked the idea because she would be able to make her mother happy, but later gets locked in a struggle over her identity. People rely heavily on the way others perceive them; however your true identity is formed primarily on how you perceive yourself.
Copying her just how my younger sister would copy me. The ideal daughter is obedient, and follows the wisdom of their elders. That is what my role as a daughter should have been like, but this is far from true. After the stage of wanting to be everything like my mom, I started to see things differently. Due to facing lots of adult problems at an early age I had become a very independent child

“Finding child care is more than merely picking a (day care) service that lets parents go to work” (APA.) Parents really need to research and make sure the day care center that they choose is the right one for their children. Sometimes day care centers may look like a great place for children to learn, play and grow but that is not always reason enough to place children in the day care center. When choosing the best day care center parents could process a background check on the person they are employing. Parents need to know the importance of child care programs.
