Alaa 1 Jasmine Alaa Period 1 Expository Reading and Writing Oppressor, tyrant, intimidator, and aggressor; these are all names that encompass everything that a bully is considered. Its been said that there are two types of people in this world, bullies and their victims. So every child whether they are in grade school, middle school, or high school must decide where they stand and how they want to be perceived. Do they want to be a person who uses strength and power to intimidate someone else by forcing them to do what they want or do they want to be the one being enforced, either way one must also consider whether those are the only two options to choose from. Everyone has seen the television shows and movies depicting some poor adolescent being harassed and bullied in the halls at school and running home trying to escape their aggressors, but the story always ended the same, as soon as the child would make it home and close their door they were safe. Which only gives more power to the bully and further alienates their victim from the student body. Social bullying may see very similar to verbal and psychological bullying because in essence they are all part of the same vicious circle. Many times in fact social bullying opens the doorway for more serious types of bullying such as sexual bullying. Also known as sexual harassment, this is a type of bullying in which unwanted sexual comments, advances, and touching may occur.
