Melissa Morgan Two restaurants which have very different approaches to Italian food are Olive Garden and Fricano’s. While both have their good points, there really is no comparison: Olive Garden wins, hands down. Their food is far better, the price is reasonable, and the service is exceptional. Walking in the front door you are hit with the smells of fabulous mouth watering aromas and are greeted by a team of friendly staff members that go out of their way to make your dinning experience enjoyable. When I am craving Italian food Olive Garden is the place I go. The menu has brightly colored pictures of the entrées, which is reassuring for someone like me who does not like to take chances on the unknown. My favorite entrée, Fettuccine Alfredo cost around $12.49. The same dish at Fricano’s cost around $13.29 and their entrée’s range from $15.00 - $20.00 which is more than I want to spend. In my opinion if Fricano’s cut back on the portions of their entrées they could lower their prices. Fricano’s seems to charge by the quantity of food and not the quality. Olive Garden is much more relaxing than Fricano’s. There may be some wait time depending on when you arrive, but I have never waited more then 20 minutes. Once seated the server is more then happy to answer any questions you may have about the menu. They are very courteous and friendly. Recently there was a 35 minute wait time at Fricano’s just to get seated. Once seated, there was another 15 minute wait before the server came to the table. The food was luke warm when it was delivered and the server seemed to be there for a paycheck, therefore; unconcerned with the quality of service that was being provided.
