As for safety, her house was completely destroyed with no walls being left intact. What's worse is that her basement has no lock on it whatsoever so that means that anybody can walk into their house and rob them. This risk is greater magnified through the fact that other people most likely did not have anything either and would most likely resort to stealing if necessary. Kathleens sense of safety is completely diminished. She looks up to her parents and tries to hold them, but her mom shuns her away because she is too busy fighting the dad.

This wasn’t unusual to him as this has been the case for the past two years but something was wrong… when Guy entered the room and approached the bed he kicks over an empty container that upon further inspection was what had held his wife’s sleeping pills. My father glanced at me and Liliana before walking out of the kitchen. That night, we went to the hospital and our mother ended up having to where a cast because she broke her wrist when she fell. The very next day, we went to a dinner party where we had to pretend to be a big, happy family.
