Opinion paper World Issues Should Canadian soldiers/peacekeepers stay and help Afghanistan or should they pull out? Afghanistan is going through a lot with war and I personally think that Canada should stay. The Canadian peacekeepers have been though so much but as leaders and role models they been doping their very best, just to support Afghanistan government. Canadian soldiers have tried so hard to make the lifestyle there easier. They try to make it so that kids, adults and families are able to carry on with their lives as if there isn’t anything going on.
Mustafa is a young educated Muslim woman who was born and raised in Canada. In her essay, she wears a hijab (a scarf that covers a woman's head and neck). According to Mustafa, the purpose of the hijab is to give women the power and control of their bodies. Mustafa also notes that she believes that a woman's body is their own concern. Moreover, she discusses the Koran (an ancient Islam text) and how it teaches that no one should be judged buy their looks, gender, money or privilege but by an individuals character.
“Idle No More” Movement and the Canadian Government The Native-led protest movement “Idle No More” serves many purposes, one of which is taking on the Canadian government and to call on people all over the country to join together and help protect the Indigenous land and water, and also revitalise Indigenous culture. These women were concerned the bill would corrode all that was left of indigenous rights. Very quickly after the word began to spread, Idle No More held a national day of protest and action in places all over Canada. It was then that the movement began to make process, and caught the

Sheila on the other hand, is proud of being seen by the public, she embraces it, and is proud of being seen as a poster girl for the rights of aboriginals. She sees that the government's actions affecting the Arctic and overall the world (concerning the subject of climate change), is affecting the cultural rights of Inuits and environmental rights as a human being. We live in a world full of racism, prejudice, and overall judgment. People look at Naheed and see a terrorist thanks to our media's portrayal of Muslims after 9/11, and this stops her from actually being seen, and treated as a human because she likes to wear her hijab.
While this is looked unfavorably upon my most other cultures and by the missionaries in the novel, it is simply a way of life for the Inuits. The white men

cannot accept this practice as it is against Christian belief, and furthermore cannot see it as the Inuits do. The Inuit men have great respect for the women.

In Sheila Watt-Cloutier’s Citation of Lifetime Achievement, 2006, Watt-Cloutier shows the urban/modern culture’s ignorance and the detrimental impact that it has on the Inuit culture. This essay will compare and explain the experiences of Mustafa and Watt-Cloutier, and how modern/urban culture greatly impact other various cultures and stereotypes.
Having the ability to stabilize work life and family life is tremendously essential in order to possess a sense of healthy living. Although pressures of society can make achieving personal balance between work and home life increasingly difficult, it is necessary to be able to realize that both elements are equally important and require equivalent amount of attention. A large majority of women have to endure the hardships of maintaining a career, while still serving as the mothers and wives of their households. Throughout history there have been many examples of women that have exemplified the characteristics of this balanced woman, and Marva Collins would certainly be considered one of them. Even though Collins was passionate about her career as an educator, she managed to sustain balance between her job and her family.
