However, in my opinion, I think the message of his story is that anything in life is possible. Charles was raised in Brooklyn, New York, and he spent a good part of his childhood living on the streets. When he was a teenager, his sister took him to the Apollo Theater to see James Brown perform. Charles was so inspired by the performance that he began to mimic James’ style of singing. With this newfound inspiration came an urgent desire to get off the streets and make something of himself.
And they have a good childhood. Second part is when Jim's high school years quickly come to a close, and he is offered a spot at the university in Lincoln and then he went to university. During this time, we see the hired girls and how they showed their spirit. The last part is short and just talks about Jim’s trip back to New York City, his hometown. Through events happened in the whole story, we will see those hired girls.
He was a very religious boy, who loved literature. His two heroes were Percy Bysshe Shelley and Jesus Christ. He was very intelligent and he fairly well in school. When he was 14 he went to New York City College. Shortly after that he had his first story published in a national magazine which was a big step for him.
The Story of RENT Jonathan Larson is the father of the masterpiece that is RENT. He was born on February 4, 1960 to a Jewish family in White Plains, New York. Larson's parents were great lovers of the arts, and exposed their children to the theatre productions such as 1776, Fiddler on the Roof, Hair, Jesus Christ Superstar, and La Boheme, amongst many others (the later two became enormous influences) whenever it was possible. Larson attended White Plains High School, where he acted in all of the school's productions. After graduation, he received a full scholarship as an actor to attend Adelphi University on Long Island.
On that particular day, however, Miss Moore decides to teach them a lesson at a New York City toy store. After the taxi ride, Sylvia arrived at 5th Avenue, a very wealthy area of New York City, where some of the kids see immediate signs of a better living. Two things happen right away that tells them that they are definitely not in their neighborhood anymore. First they see “everybody dressed up in stockings and one lady in a fur coat, hot as it is”(Bambara 1149). This is where the changes of Sylvia’s attitude first start to take place.
Musicals were a great opportunity for the department to make money, and also to show the student body what theater is all about. Now as I get older one way to fulfill that dream is to move to another city and experience new things. I’m not just going to move to any city, but I’m going to move to a city that I will personally enjoy and a city that meets mine and my family’s needs. I have found that city and it is Clovis, California because it is a new city that is still in the process of growing, it is safe for people of all ages, the education systems are highly advanced in academics and athletics, and there are many available career opportunities.
