The basic communication principle I apply to my personal life experience is knowing my audience and communicating a little at a time. I believe by knowing and interacting with a person before I just say what’s on my mind.I believe by knowing the person’s attitude and belief will help me be better prepared to answer questions they might want to ask me whenever we strike up a conversation. I also feel the results these results are a accurate description of my personality and communication style. I am a introverted person and I see this plays a factor when I talk to strangers. Yet, I do know how important and how good it can feel to connect with someone new.
Throughout the book the author revealed plenty of useful information put into action in approving are listening skills to be better listeners. Not only is he growing up, but he is trying to save the innocence from reaching the maturity. I did not think I was this kind of person until I learned that I did not like seeing my friends transforming into new, but older people. I can definitely call myself similar to Holden, although I do not ostracize myself from other people, we both try to hold on to our innocence and others’ innocence. This essay motivated me to save people from going into the bad side, because after all high school can determine lives. Theme Analysis This year, English II class explored many themes through books and movies.
I felt that the assessment was correcting in saying that I was an INTJ personality type based on the links that were provided after answering the yes and no questions. In one of the articles, Marina Margaret Heiss made the statement, “INTJs know what they know, and perhaps still more importantly, they know what they don't know”. (2009) This statement alone really hit home with me. I began to think about how when I am dealing with the young students of the youth group I am willing to help only when I know how to deal with the problem, and when I don’t I turn them to someone else who is more likely to understand and know how to address the issue. In another article, written by Dr. David Keirsey he refers to people with the INTJ personality type “Masterminds”.
It represented defiance against the older generation and American culture through its extravagance. Another factor in the provocation of the riots in Los Angeles was that many Latino males were not in the military, which only raised questions about their patriotism. It may have been mainly the attitude toward the war that truly drove the violent actions of military personnel; with rationing affecting every American family and wool being one of the many products cut down, the zoot suit was a pricey and obvious affront to the rationing regulations. The combination of these sparked the series of riots between the zoot suiters and the predominantly white members of the U.S. military.
Henry’s father self identifies as being a Mexican while Henry and the other youth self identify as being Chicanos. It is interesting that since the Chicano movement did not start until after the 1940’s that there was racism within the Mexican community itself. Racism towards Anglos occurs in a scene in the bar where Henry fights with another gang rival. El Pachuco makes the statement “don’t hate raza more than gringo’s”; this statement shows the hatred for Anglos but also speaks to how Mexicans need to stick together. Being that this is a short paper, I will only talk about a few incidents in the courtroom scene as there far too many examples of racism to detail here.

Yes September 11 was a sad day for us all and I think that is when the racist profiling began to start up again. There are different races and cultures in every state you go. I think that people just need to get over their hate for other cultures in their communities and learn to live with it. I have never seen so many hard workers until I moved to Arizona and started working with Mexicans. Too many people waste their time and energy putting so much hate into our communities, I think they tend to forget about keeping their own families safe and happy within their comminutes.

Mexican America Discrimination United States has been the land of opportunities, but because of color, race and creed Mexicans have been discriminated against. The opportunity for Mexican Americans has been limited in economic opportunity and social and political advantage. It is not a secret that the Mexicans come to the United States in search of better opportunities for themselves and their families. Discrimination has still remained persistent throughout the years. One of the big reasons why there is a big discrimination is it due to the high numbers of Mexicans crossing the border illegally.
