On one hand, Gardasil, a new Merck drug may prevent the human papilloma virus (HPV), from infecting millions of women worldwide. On the other hand, others are skeptical of administering the vaccine at all. Several bills have been introduced which would of informed parents about the HPV vaccine, and require them to vaccinate their daughters before entering middle school. The new Merck drug, Gardasil, should not be mandated by the federal government because it is a violation of parental rights and fast tracking a new vaccine could prove to be disastorous.
As it stands right now, I believe that a minor should have parental consent when having any medical procedure done including abortion, however by the time I finish this assignment is it possible that I could be persuaded to lean in the other direction? In favor of non parental consent: 1. Rape or incest would be a main reason why abortion without parental consent is acceptable. 2. Dangers of back alley abortions are another reason because we definitely do not want our children to find illegal ways to get an abortion simply because they are afraid to tell their parents.

There is no reason that the government would force the rape victim to carry the child that she never wanted. Also, many women who choose abortion don't have the financial resources to support a child. A journal Perspectives on Sexual and Reproductive Health was asking women why they had an abortion found that 73% of respondents said they could not afford to have a baby, and 38% said giving birth would interfere with their education and career goals.

Hormones are chemical substances that control the performance of the body's organs. In this case, the hormones in any birth control pill control the uterus and the ovaries. Most pills are "combination pills" containing a mixture of the hormones progesterone and estrogen to prevent pregnancy. A woman cannot get pregnant if she doesn't ovulate because there is no egg to be fertilized.

They wouldn’t sell you the pill without a subscription, so imagine if they wouldn’t get a held of the doctor, then it would be to late. Even if you had unprotected sex and you didn’t want to be pregnant you should be able to get a held of that pill. You never know what kind of accidents might happened if you don’t have protected sex. Its just good to know that there is a pill to save you three days after you had sex, and didn’t use a condom.
You could always have the baby and give it up for adoption. Also, there are medical procedures that can prevent from getting pregnant when raped. Another reason is that they think that abortion is not used as contraception. Many individuals use protection against getting pregnant, but learning your menstrual cycle to know when you’re ovulating and taking care of yourself can prevent a pregnancy. A pregnancy does cause stress.
This, it in turn hurts their child, more than it hurts themselves. Drug abuse while pregnant is an extremely important topic to inform all expectant mothers about. Many women are not aware of how much they are truly hurting their children because they are not well informed on such topics. Abusing drugs while pregnant can and usually will cause long term effects on these children. The only way to make sure you are not causing abnormalities, birth defects, and other drug induced issues, is to not abuse any drugs, and make sure you are as healthy as can be.
Dear Sara, I know that you are pretty clueless about being pregnant, as this is your first time, and maybe excited and nervous all at the same time. I am writing this to let you know a little bit about what you can expect during your pregnancy, what your little one will be going through, and what you can do to assist in having a healthy newborn. First I would suggest that you quit smoking. Nicotine is a teratogen, a substance that crosses the placenta and harms the baby; smoking during pregnancy can cause many learning and behavior problems, as well as delivering a premature or under weight baby. Other teratogens include drugs, alcohol, infections, and some medications.
My family disagreed. My family thought that kids should be allowed to be kids. The result was me getting kicked out of the school that I was attending. When are teachers and doctors going to realize that kids don’t need these drugs? I think too many doctors are prescribing drugs to children who don’t necessarily need these prescriptions.
