Lady Macbeth has a plan to kill Duncan. In order for this plan to work Lady Macbeth and Macbeth had to be very deceitful. Lady Macbeth manipulates Macbeth into killing Duncan, when Macbeth had doubts. Lady Macbeth's criticised towards Macbeth: “that I may pour my sprits in thine ear”. (Macbeth I, v, 26) Lady Macbeth made Macbeth feel bad about himself, by lowering his manhood and bravery.
This also points to how unintelligent Macbeth really was. This is true for Lady Macbeth as well, as she convinced Macbeth to follow through with the plan, even with Macbeth doubting himself so much. I don’t think anyone could have predicted how Lady Macbeth and Macbeth both responded to Duncan’s murder. In committing the murder, Macbeth became king, but he would also become a nervous wreck that could be executed at any
When she says “What need we fear who/ Knows it, when none can call our power accompt?” (5.1.37-38). In making a comment on this, it not only gives away the fact that she did indeed commit murder, but also that she and her husband, Macbeth, need not worry about people knowing who they had killed if they were able to retain power. The fact that Lady Macbeth was so hungry to for power that she was ready to kill will lead to her self destruction, which would result in her insanity. This demonstrates how ambition can cause destruction. Ultimately, the hallucinations of bloodstains on Lady Macbeth’s hands are what symbolize the guilt and lack of innocence.
Abigail and the girls pretend Mary is bewitching them again which make Mary breakdown and accuse john of being a witch. After being tried as a witch and told he was going to get hanged he has a chance to confess and live but he chooses to die and keep his name. As a result of the lies and the affair between john and Abigail there were a lot of innocent people killed and hurt even those who they claimed they loved. Abigail and Elizabeth are two very different characters but have some similarities. Both Abigail and Elizabeth show determination in order to get what they want, and they are both strong
At the beginning of the play Lady Macbeth takes control and masterminds the murder of King Duncan. When she receives Macbeth’s letter her first thoughts are to kill Duncan, and to influence Macbeth’s rise as king. However, by the end of the play her guilt gains on and her drives her insane, ultimately leading. Lady Macbeth should be blamed for murder of King Duncan. Lady Macbeth is very manipulative and wants to be queen.
Come, you spirits / That tend on mortal thoughts, unsex me here, / And fill me from the crown to the toe topful / Of direst cruelty!” (I.V.38-34).These lines tell how Lady Macbeth pressure Macbeth to kill King Duncan. If I were to add one ingredient to Lady Macbeth, it would be love. The reason why is that if she really loved Macbeth she wouldn’t pressure Macbeth to kill King Duncan because she would of worried what would of happen to him if he got a caught. If I were to remove a ingredient of Lady Macbeth it would be devotion. The reason why is that Lady Macbeth would not be devoted to make Macbeth king and result of having him to kill people to get
There are many influences that lead to destroy Macbeth, but, Lady Macbeth influences him the most. She is responsible for his extreme desire to be king by wanting to be queen herself. She gives him the idea to kill King Malcom. Because Lady Macbeth comes up with this idea of killing, it becomes a habit for him to do. Another major reason was when Lady Macbeth killed herself.
I believe that she has a bad influence on Macbeth being that she led Macbeth in to a bad situation. lady Macbeth is always trying to over take Macbeth on the great chain of being .women in Shakespearean times where considered to have to work under men and where not allowed to take part in manly activities also lady Macbeth wished to be famous so when the news of Macbeth being told by the witches that he shall be king al her dreams flashed before her eyes being that she was expecting Macbeth to overhaul king Duncan in the great chain of being she then wished to overhaul men and the royalty as well, she saw her self as stronger and more powerful then Macbeth and she used love to guide him in to the grasps of the witches and the
Lady Macbeth’s Direct Influence of Macbeth The downfall of Macbeth is caused by two unparalleled sides of the same road that is merely Macbeth’s own personal weak conscious and the dominated physiological abuse of Lady Macbeth. The constant manipulation of Lady Macbeth directed at her husband operates as an assault to his duties as a man and spouse, along with substituting her husband’s ambitions and aspirations with her own thriving greed for power. The ability to think to beyond what is needed encourages not only the collapse of sanity in Macbeth but also the rationality of Lady Macbeth. “What need we fear who knows it, when none can call our pow’r to accompt? Yet who would have thought the old man to have had so much blood in him?”
In the beginning, Macbeth seems to be against all the killings and violence, while Lady Macbeth pushes him to commit these acts. As the play progresses, the roles begin to shift when murder becomes easier for Macbeth, while Lady Macbeth begins to feel all the guilt. At the end of the play it is clear that Lady Macbeth has gone crazy over the guilt she bears, while Macbeth now kills without thinking.
