Movies can be categorized into one or more genre’s, depending on what the movie is about. Everyone has opinions, people may have the same opinion or they may have very different opinions. An opinion is a view formed about a topic, and doesn’t have to be based on fact or knowledge. To correctly analyze a genre, it takes facts that can prove why it would fall in that category. An example might be that people wouldn’t want the Titanic being placed in a Comedy movie genre; instead it is labeled as a romance movie. Justin Bieber: Never Say Never is a documentary. A documentary is a term to define a movie that in some way "documents" or captures reality. Documentaries are often used to convey facts about events or a person’s life. The first component that proves Justin Bieber: Never Say Never is a documentary is that interviews take place in the movie with him. People ask him questions, that can’t necessarily be answered with a yes or a no, and ask him about his personal life. Justin Bieber: Never Say Never describes how Justin’s life has changed from being a normal kid and living in poverty to becoming the number one teen star in America. The second component that makes Justin Bieber: Never Say Never a documentary is the File footage. File footage is film that has been taken in the past, but can be used in the movie as well. File footage tells about Justin’s life when he was growing up. File footage is good to have in this movie because it shows how life was before an event changed it. The last component that makes this movie a documentary is that only facts are given. Documentaries give facts about a topic, and cover the entire story making sure not to forget details.
