The inspirational quote was written by Dr. Seuss himself in 1990. It holds true today because everyone is still capable to make their own decisions and choose the correct path. The quote is my favorite simply because it will always apply to life. Everyone is smart in their own way, but if we want to get somewhere, we will make it our goal to do so. It’s full of questions and doubts about who the killer actually is. The movie was released in 1957 starring Henry Fonda, Lee J. Cobb, and John Fielder (the voice of piglet), just to name a few. The entire 96 minute long, black and white film takes place in one room. Twelve jurors have to come to a decision on whether or not they should take a young man’s life away. Through the whole 96 minutes, every juror slowly but surely changes their mind, which is why it’s my favorite. It influenced me not to make the wrong choices because not everyone is going to be on my side if I do. Some of the jurors just wanted a decision so they could leave for a baseball game; others had no evidence and still decided. “12 Angry Men” will influence my development at a HBCU because I know that not everyone I encounter will think about my future or put me first. Without one person to sit and think about what will become of me, I could be nothing. Yes, I have my own path, but no one can ever get to the end of anything by themselves.
