My dear nephew Marco, I am so pleased that your father has agreed to send you on your first trading assignment to represent us. I am certain you will do well for the Contarini and bring us a healthy return on the family investments in this voyage. The ship on which you sail is one of the finest of the Venetian fleet and should provide you safe passage. What Canale has said of us so many years ago is even more accurate today: "Merchandise passes through this noble city as water flows through fountains." May the waters on which you sail be as beneficial to you as they have been to this republic, and may our patron gods of Venice - Mercury, who watches over commerce, and Neptune, who guards the seas - guide you on your voyage.

William Everett Dr. Andrew Plattner English 1101 31 October 2012 Citizen Kane Evaluation Citizen Kane is a movie about a multimillionaire in the newspaper business named Charles Foster Kane. The movie was very good, and I would definitely watch it again. There were many aspects of the movie I found to be very intriguing and excellent, and it certainly was entertaining. Overall I found the movie to be very well put together, and in my opinion definitely a classic. When it comes to the things I liked about the movie there were several.
His retirement, however does not spell the end of his career. Instead, like any great leader he has taken on a new challenge with a position on the Board of Directors of Invacare Corporation. The organization welcomed him and his skills with open arms as the compnay is aiming to further its hold on the international market. The company is eager to have General Jones on board because they realize that he has tremendous experience in both domestic and international strategy. His willingness to take on a new and challenging venture even after retirement proves that he is a natural born leader who is gifted at both teaching and motivating.
The son of Healfdene starts off his speech by thanking Beowulf. “Beowulf my friend/your name shall resound in the nations/that are farthest away.” (1702-04) From the beginning of this speech it is foreshadowed that good will come of Beowulf’s future as he has not only proven himself once in the victory over Grendel, but twice by defeating Grendel’s mother. He has proven his worth and it appears to be that Beowulf has a very heroic future ahead of him as a great leader and ruler. However, closer to the end of this speech, a warning ensues “but in little time/sickness or a sword will strip it from you/either enfolding flame or a floods billow/or a knife-stab or the stoop of a spear/death shall soon have beaten you then/O brave warrior!” (1761-67) The use of alliteration is prominent in these lines with the constant use of the sounds of “s”, as well as “e” and “f”. These constant sounds help show the seriousness of this warning.
Being that Edward Moore Kennedy is a very logical man he has a strong use of logos. He uses examples of specific information. “On Chappaquiddick Island, off Martha's Vineyard, I attended, on Friday evening, July 18th, a cook-out I had encouraged and helped sponsor for a devoted group of Kennedy campaign secretaries” (Paragraph 2 line 2). It is a good use of Logos because he is letting his audience know where he was along with the date and event. Edward Moore Kennedy uses pathos to show his emotional appeals.
We aim to create substantial interest, leading increased membership. This provides opportunities for sustainable growth and income. Using a profile positioning strategy to promote our campaign and the facilities to the local community we can develop commitment and encourage relationships to grow (A similar analogy would be that of a Health Club offering one month free to entice new visitors, a medium term sponsored membership to promote continuation and the consequential long-term membership of those ‘bitten’.) This method, despite any churn, will always provide sustainable growth and maximise interest and peripheral participation. Our strategy incorporates a range of tools and media using a funnelling approach (Carlsberg 2007) to gain visibility, develop relationships, building awareness through sponsorship, events, promotions etc and increased brand loyalty and pride.
