Global Warming Louis Clemens HUM/111 11/20/2011 Katie Newbanks Global warming has become a major concern over the last century. The world is much hotter now than the past. Many reasons are to blame for this global temperature increase such as fossil fuels releasing C02 emissions. C02 emissions are released from coal, oil, and natural gas burning. Coal, natural gas, and oil are burned for energy in many ways such as cars and power plants. Forest burning for deforestation also causes C02 emissions. C02 emissions are harmful to the planet and cause the planet to heat up. Global warming causes worse weather conditions in the world amongst other issues. With so many issues that can arise with a hotter Earth, I believe this to be a major issue that needs to be addressed. I believe that every…show more content…
As a society and population, we need to hold each other accountable and stop things from being allowed that affect the Earth in a negative manner. Individuals need to hold the government and businesses accountable. Many corporations use massive amounts of energy to make a variety of products used by many every day. As a population we can find smarter and safer ways to provide energy such as solar and wind power. If more people fight to force the government to make wiser energy decisions we can turn around global warming. Many communities are surrounded by nuclear energy plants or other harmful energy plants. This is a dilemma that local communities face when trying to fight global warming. Each individual can only do so much to fight these huge corporations and energy plants. The best thing we can do as a society is establish better laws for what is considered acceptable when creating energy. If this planet is ruined, all the money concerns and energy concerns will not matter anymore. We need to preserve this planet while we still can for the future
