I see more great examples of faith throughout this chapter. Luke 8 At this time Jesus had went throughout every city and village preaching and showing the word of God, while having the 12 disciples with him. He gave the “parable of the sower”, in this parable; The seed is God’s word The stones represent those who, when they receive the word of God have no foundation and in temptation, they will succumb and fall away. The thorns represent those choked with cares and riches and pleasures of the world. The good ground are those with a honest, good heart, having heard the word of God.
The days of our lives are structured around cycles of work, eating, family and recreation times. Any of these activities can become boring if we don't strive to find something interesting or enjoyable about them. The objective in going to church is to seek to build our relationship with God and others. I believe that if my church community takes steps forward in these resolutions it can bring a positive upraise in the attendance at CMC. Although I may not know some of the members that consist of this church, but I can also say that each and every member is apart of my family.
One other major Biblical reference can be seen with the Joad family’s preparation for the flood, closely referencing the time when Noah spent his time packing up the ark with animals. Another Biblical reference that can be seen indirectly in the novel is with Jim Casey and with Jesus Christ. This allusion can be seen because Casey is symbolic to Christ in the way that he takes leadership throughout the novel, mainly with giving praise to the family. Parallel to Casey’s reference with Christ, the character of Pa Joad can be viewed as a true Christian man who struggles in the world that he lives in because of the many conflicts he faces throughout his journey. Also throughout the novel, the migrant movement from Oklahoma to California can be seen as a Biblical reference to the mass Exodus of the Jews.
What I'm suggesting is that we are what we are, human. Each and every one of us has a different story, a different situation and a different set of issues. All of that aside, God has brought us here together today so that we can worship Him, praise Him and do so together as a body of believers. As I said before, we also have a problem listening to Him. That's the other thing that he brings us together for.
For Puritans in Early America, it was not the same case. Church was not always a fun experience. There was no singing and praising the Lord’s name joyfully. Church would last for hours on end. People were expected to sit on benches quietly and patiently.
The traditions of man must give way to this new generation of worshippers, worshippers who are not frequenting the Church but are in the communities helping, reading ‘spiritual’ books to help them learn about being great people, and having a relationship with God. This is the generation of the Church without walls, they are not seeking the norm, but are challenging the traditional Church to come and meet them and when they do come for baptisms, funerals, or weddings to accept them. The Church must take these opportune moments and get to know these individuals and they may have the answers that the Church is seeking now. There is a responsibility that the Church has that must take place before It can prosper
The Gospel By: Davita Pettway Giving a Honor to God Who's the head of my life. I would like to share with you The Gospel of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. With the help of the Holy Spirit I will be breaking-down and explaining The Good News of salvation, that is given to every born believer, full and free through faith in our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. If you will, let's turn to Romans 1:16; which defines the Gospel as the Power of God for Salvation to everyone that believes. O.K with that being said, one might ask, why do we need salvation?
There are 2 Christian beliefs, one is that when we pass as good Christians we will sit at the right hand of God for eternity in God’s kingdom and the other is to be condemned to hell.” God has offered the eternal life to all who will receive it “(Rom. 6:23 New International Version). All men are born sinners WORLDVIEW ASSIGNMENT 6 because of the Fall of Adam and Eve in the Garden of Eden. Living daily through the teachings of the Bible and living as Jesus lived we will come to know God and Jesus Christ. Jesus said, “Be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life” (Rev.
Christ had referred to the Old Testament summary of all the laws of the Bible into two great commandments: "'You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, with all your strength, and with all your mind,' and your neighbor as yourself'" (Luke 10:27). When asked who was a neighbor, Christ related the parable of the Good Samaritan (Luke 10:30-37). It was the Good Samaritan who took care of the mugging victim who was a neighbor to the victim. The others who walked by and ignored the victim's plight were not acting as neighbors to him. In the light of all we have seen the Scriptures teach to this point, can we argue that if we were able to save another's life from an attacker by shooting the attacker with our gun that we should "turn the other cheek instead?"
For instance, one of the statements of agreement in the document states that integration tends to build a common cause of simple evangelical Christianity. Also, he pointed out that through unity Christians shall prevail since this is the cause of Christ (Smith,
