Do carbonated drinks affect your health? I think it does. Carbonated drinks are the cause of broadest stokes. Carbonated drinks occupy a unique place in the hearts and minds of most Americans. Carbonated drinks have been in American culture since the 20th century, but it doesn’t start there. Carbonated drinks came from the European’s technology. Europeans discovered how to make carbon dioxide gas into water back in the 16th century. The bubbly drinks were carbonated mineral water mimicking those found in natural springs. The first of them were in the United States in 1810. Now carbonated drinks can be found most anywhere in the world. So, why are carbonated soft drinks a concern for health? Use of carbonated beverages sport drinks and fruit drinks can impact bones health oral health and lead to obesity in young people. Because many carbonated drinks are high in caffeine, they are mildly addictive. Girls from ages 12-19 consume an average of 59mg of caffeine per day. On the other hand, boys consume an average of 89mg of caffeine per day. The high calorie content of drinks may add to increasing rate of obesity in youth. Overweight adolescents are likely to become underweight adults. School age girls who drink a lot of carbonated soft drinks are increasing their risk of osteoporosis. Osteoporosis is a disorder in which the bones become increasing fragile and subject to fracture due to loss of calcium and other mineral components sometimes result in pain decreased height, and skeletal deformities. It is common in older people primarily in postmenopausal women but associated with long term steroid therapy and certain disorders. ” Many general dietary factor have been suggested as a cause of osteoporosis including: low calcium, high phosphorus intake, high protein, high diet, high-acid-ash diet high salt, intake and trace mineral deficiencies it appears that soft drinks
