For instance in her algebra class , when her teacher explains the way to solve the problem or what ever they may be learning that day she would understand it the first time she hears him explain it. She always wants to know something new. Jasmine is very sweet and she can get along with everyone that come in contact with her. She will also help anyone that needs help. She would try to help someone with there work even if she doesn't know how to do it.
For instance, Mr. Alexander was so thrilled a students’ newfound understanding of a problem that with a burst of excitement he punched his fist through his classroom window. His undying passion for math persuaded me to create the same amount of passion for it also―with less pain, but as time has passed this passion has faded along with my math smarts. “Courtney, I wish I could marry your brain!” was a declaration spoken from the mouth of a genius of a math teacher, Mr. Alexander, that came charging back into my memory in the third quarter of my AP Geometry class as I sat dumbfounded by the lack of knowledge I was apprehending from my then teacher, Mrs. Shackelford. By this time math had become my worst enemy and I hated it with a passion. Sorry about the negative diction I am professing towards math, but the truth is that I lost my love for it year’s ago―with the help of horrible instructors.
He receives 60 minutes of resource room support daily to address speech and reading goals. Nathan enjoys math and very talented in math. He especially enjoyed the geometry unit the class just completed. He is typically a quiet worker during independent work time. It’s not unusual for Nathan to help other kids in his class.
Reflective Paper Juanita Ashley Ramsey MAT 213 July 23, 205 David Beames Reflective Paper MAT 213 Mathematics for Elementary Educators 1 has taught me so much in 5 weeks that will help me in the future. MAT 213 was so full of great and valuable information that will help me become a great math teacher. This course has addressed several major mathematical concepts and through the My Math Lab Mastery Points and Formative Assessments I have mastered many topics from problem solving, numeration systems and sets, whole numbers and their operations, number theory, integers, rational numbers and proportional reasoning, decimals: rational numbers and percent, real numbers and algebraic thinking. I came in this class thinking it was going to be really easy and I was wrong. This has been one of the hardest most challenging math classes I have ever taken.
Jessica Newton Professor Fiske Math History Oct 10, 2012 Math Doesn’t Suck by Danica McKellar In the book “Math Doesn’t Suck” Danica discusses many important math concepts. She also talks about her experiences with math and throws in some middle school humor to keep the reader interested. I believe she did a very good job on giving different techniques to use in the book for each concept she discusses. Danica McKellar covers a broad range of topics in her book ranging anywhere from factorization to solving for X, while giving great tips and techniques on how to better hone your mathematical skills. The first section in the book is about factors and multiples.
The first example of power in this book is how Ender is clearly superior to the other kids at both his battle school and normal school. Ender could do complex math problems in his head, and he always had the correct answers to the problems that stumped the other kids. Having the intellectual advantage over other children gave Ender power because he could always think faster, and make smarter
Addison McGillicuddy Period 4 How We Use Math In Everyday Life Math is a valuable tool that every human being should have. Math is very important and without it we would not be able to do a lot of things. It is used everyday without us even knowing it. fOne way that math is used in your life is when you cook. When you cook you are measuring things and putting fractions of an ingredient in a bowl.
Knowing about common percentages, decimals, and fractions is extremely important in chemistry, as it is in any science or math subject. “As a technician, you work in a very fast paced environment. It would be very helpful to have certain fraction and decimal equivalents memorized so that you can quickly make these switches when necessary.”, says Jeff Blackburn (6) To those struggling, apathetic-towards-fractions pupils who are thinking, “I’ll never need to know how to change these decimals”, those in the field of medicine are constantly using the knowledge that they learned in grade school. Finally, conversions are another type of math used in a pharmacy. Compare it to making a cake: if one adds two liters of milk instead of cups, the pastry would be completely ruined, or strange tasting at the very least.
For example, math is very hard for me, I need lots of help, so when I am doing math homework I have to always double check my work and when I can look in the back of the book to see if Im correct it helps and I feel really good when I get the correct answer, also when I am at cheer I practice my tumbling, and when I finally land it properly after many attempts it makes me feel so happy and it feels really good to know that I didn't give up, even though it took me many try’s. If I would have never tried and never failed then I would have never succeeded, and thats always a really good feeling! Yes it is true that failing is very hard to accept and sometimes it seems like it would be easier to give up, but if I were to give up because it was hard or because I was afraid of failure then my life who be empty. Success is hard to achieve, but the reward is worth all of the struggles that come with working hard. I have seen people that never try anything because of fear and they lack success.
