This is most genuinely portrayed in Scout’s innocence, and Atticus’s moral character. Each tale presented is “a vehicle for the moral fable that runs through Mockingbird” (Dare 84). This is an analysis of morals and empathy in Harper Lee’s To Kill a Mockingbird, specifically through the voices of Atticus and Scout Finch. Atticus Finch is regarded throughout the novel as being a man of good moral character, and was always willing to put himself in someone else’s shoes (Dare 82).

In this story, James Baldwin presents a narrative about Sonny, a very talented piano musician who struggles with the temptations of drugs that surround the life of musicians in Harlem. In “Sonny’s Blues,” our narrator reflects on Sonny’s youth as a kid and how he would skip school to play music with all the older musicians. A sense of belonging can be easily achieved based on our relationships with the people around us. It is these bonds that bring out our true emotions and character and shape who we are and who we feel comfortable being. As You Like It features the relationship between Rosalind and Orlando; one of instant love and admiration for each other and so we see the idea of fate; However although it may start out simple, hazards arise as the plot unfolds and we see Rosalind forced to pose as a male. Out of Orlando’s sheer lust and infatuation for Rosalind he simply cannot be complacent until he is reunited with his one true love he states ‘to you I give myself for I am yours’ introducing a physical ownership and belonging to one another. Similarly Brick Lane looks at how Nanzeen feels as though she belongs when she takes part in an affair, a relationship with obvious difficulties.
This is because Ralston had an acute passion for searching for self-understanding. While Ralston was always pushing his limits in the extremes of nature he was trying to answer a question he had about himself and his own abilities to fight for survival. In Zeitoun, Abdulrahman Zeitoun is torn between different aspects of his passion that were often opposing. As a contractor, Zeitoun has become intimately aware of much of his adoptive city and he is ever grateful for the opportunity of a prosperous life that New Orleans has provided. This has allowed Zeitoun to pursue his passion of living up to the name of his successful family, through his contracting business, but he is torn when he is forced to choose between the need to provide for his family physically, through his work, and his family’s personal need for him as a father and husband.
Despite this fact, he continues to see the Rabbi and their relationship remains strong. Similar to his decision about Jackie Robinson, Michael decides that he appreciates the Rabbi as a person, he loves his stories and what he has to teach is very meaningful in life. Even though there are some strong consequences, it’s the boy’s honest opinion and love for the Rabbi that manage to give this story a happy ending. They came from two different worlds, but together they were able to defeat the falcons with a bit of faith and a strong friendship along the way. Racism played a huge part in this message.

Cormac McCarthy’s novel, “The Road,” expresses vast amounts of love, sacrifice, and devotion. The story creates a great contrast of characters involving friendly relationships and the tragedies that keep them together. As the novel progresses, the personal chemistry between the dad and the son becomes stronger. Throughout the novel, the author keeps the audience interested by taking the characters through different trials and tribulations, in which they help each other out. The man’s sacrifices instilled a lot of confidence in the boy.
