If he were to die still hating Big Brother, it would make the statement of everything he had stood for in life and the sacrifices he had to make. Even though very few people, if any, would know he hated Big Brother, it was more a personally accomplishment for him. Gattaca – Notes &
Proctors action s reveal his inner strength. For example, when John tears his testimony he is giving his life away. Proctor action’s not common because he is a brave man who cares about his family. In Salem no body else would have dared defy authority because they are afraid to die by the injustices of the town. John Proctor choose to go against the judge s orders for the reputation of his family can be ruin because of his action.
In Arthur Miller’s The Crucible, the character John Proctor is a good man. He is a good man because even though he was aware of the consequences to come, he still eventually confessed his sins to the court in order to protect his wife. He is also a good man because he eventually chose to be hanged rather than having his name smeared for a crime he did not commit. John Proctor knew the consequences he would have to face by confessing that he committed the sin, adultery, to the court. Although it was not his initial plan to confess, he does so in order to protect his wife, Elizabeth.
Pavel starts off by saying that in many cases, children looked up to their fathers as role models. For Artie, though, that was not the case. Artie says that when he was a child, Vladek would try to assert full dominance over Artie and say that Artie would not accomplish as much as he did . As a result, Artie tried really hard to prove him wrong and often argued with him. Now that he became really successful, he felt bad that he proved Vladek wrong because at similar ages;Vladek went through Auschwitz while Artie became successful and famous through the publication of Maus.
The Crucible: Prompt 4 In Arthur Miller’s play, The Crucible, John Proctor is a very multifaceted character. He is, as I see it, a tragic hero. He has sinned by the laws of the church that rules by a theocracy in his town, and yet also yearns until his last breath to make the decisions a good man would in order to set things right in his town. Throughout Acts I and II, John hides his past affair with Abigail Williams, a previous servant of his household. Abigail tries to get him to come back to her constantly, but John gives his love to his wife Elizabeth Proctor and shuts Abigail away.
It also shows how much he wanted a “father form heaven”: someone he could rely on to earn for his family and support him. Frank thinks his dead brothers won’t ever have to deal with such worries and not getting what they want. He realizes that death may have not been such a bad thing for Eugene but a way of escaping all of life’s hardships for a much more heavenly place. He even seems to be a bit jealous! This suggests that he thought death was better than life at one point.
Jim also displayed the image of father that would give up his own life for his boy when stayed with Tom after he got shot. The doctor saw it and was grateful for “a nigger that was a better nuss or faithfuller, and yet he was resking his freedom to do it” (289). Huck took on a father type roll when he decided he was going to educate Jim with stories about kings and such, but respected Jim when he just didn’t get about King Solomon, “So I went talking about other kings and let Solomon slide” (155). There can be no dispute about Huck pulling in and risking his life, as well hell, “to set a free nigger free” (292), just as a father would do for his son. What was different about the relationship of Huck and Jim is that it was not expected by society, but it was based on mutual respect and trust that earned.
At one point, when Chlomo was being beaten by Idek, he was ashamed of his father and he didn’t feel any grief for him. When Rabbi Eliahou’s son abondons him, Elie prays to God to never let him abandon his own father like that. Elie says “Rabbi Eliahou’s son had felt that his father was growing weak, he had believed that the end was near and had sought this separation in order to get rid of the burden, to free himself from an encumbrance which could lessen his own chances of survival. I had done well to forget that. And I was glad that Rabbi Eliahou should continue to look for his beloved son.
Although he does feel bad that he just abandoned him so close to the end of his father’s life, it didn’t stop him from doing it. “I went to look for him. But at the same moment this thought came into my mind: ‘Don’t let me find him! If only I could get rid of this dead weight, so that I could use all my strength to struggle for my own survival, and only worry about myself.’ Immediately I felt ashamed of myself, ashamed forever” (101). Here we saw Elie’s feelings towards his father really come through.
What Amir had done to atone for his mistakes after a long period of time is an act of braveness from someone that lived his entire life in darkness to finally search for the light of redemption in a way that spiritual forgiveness from the person affected and God will lead to harmony in his life now that he is good again, people that does not believe that Amir atoned for his sins after Hassan’s death, but they should believe that repentance is real when we make a mistakes such as every human in this world, and as a result it makes us better persons for not committing the same mistake, not mattering what that person had done there is always a path of peace and happiness. As being said in the bible, ”This is love: not that we loved God, but that he loved as and sent his son as an atoning sacrifice for our sins” (1 John 4:10), this passage from the bible says that Christ truly did suffer for our sins and made a way for us to be forgiven, through repentance so we can feel clean, pure and worthy, whole and
