2 February 2012 Woodstock Woodstock was the largest music and art festival ever recorded in history. Over a half a million people from all around the country organized on a small dairy farm in New York to support their favorite artists and stand against the mainstream. These three days changed the lives of the concert goers and society forever. Woodstock was an outlet for counter culture, a group whose ideals rivaled those of the mainstream. Woodstock was the most influential music festival of its time; it was three days of peace and music that represented the counter culture as it stood against the mainstream and its political views.
In recent years Oklahoma has begun to take a new approach to the way music is presented by producing more opportunities for live shows and allowing a larger variety of genres. In 2008 Norman Music Festival was born, thus developing one of the first of many new venues and festivals that would eventually spread through the entire state. Norman Music Festival was originally one day but has since grown to spread out over 2 full days and three nights, popularity has generated an increasing number of attendees each year. News Ok did a review of the festival and had this to say, “Main stage act Horse Thief entertained a crowd of at least 250 patrons. The band’s pastoral pop performance was breezy, beautiful and only a taste of what the festival had to offer.” The most recent addition to the Oklahoma music scene was Mystic Sanctuary, a two day EDM (Electronic Dance Music) rave where 25,000 people from across Oklahoma and neighboring states came to join in the festivities.
This is a very festive time for this country. January is a very busy month wrought with festivities as Carnevale comes in and proceeds up until Ash Wednesday. Carnevale as you can imagine just like in New Orleans is filled willed colorful pageants, masquerades, singing and dancing and so much more. Although this is celebrated throughout Italy, Each little village and town has their own unique way of celebrating. The celebrations usually continue for many hours into the night and usually end with the sounds of fireworks permeating the air.

Warwick castle host numerous events throughout the normal days examples are: the firing of the mighty Trebuchet and the flight of the eagles show. Also they offer great concerts to the public, this year the world known singer Jessie J is appearing at the castle for a concert. I went to the Jessie J concert and it was very good, the castle hosting 20,000 people in the gardens. The image on the right is just one of the many view to see Jessie preform late into the night.

The opportunity to perform for the super bowl half-time show is a tremendous honor for any musician. The super bowl performance held on February 4, 2004 should have been no different from years prior. However for some reason this performance would set an example for the FCC. During the performance there was a huge mishap that occurred. The performance with music icon Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake didn’t exactly go as planned.
He goes back to Sun Label supplementary to record more songs. He gets another chance to perform at the Louisiana Hayride. 00 later around this time, he records his first two songs at Sun Label. This was an audience of an elder generation who grew up with Frank Sinatra and business suit singing. They have there organization to complement there great performance. Before each song they would tell you the song followed by where the inspiration came from. I really enjoyed hearing all of that because it makes you appreciate the music just as much. Captain Haley Armstrong led the band to a wonderful performance.
