Okonkwo plays a big role in the story because of how his character fits on Things Fall Apart. It is crazy how he treat people differently, he will beat up his wives and children yet he has a soft spot towards Ekwefi and Enzima. This makes me think that Okonkwo choose his moments to act manly or choose people to beat up, and he is always more aggressive to his family members than outside people. Okonkwo showed that he has no sympathy when he killed Ikemefuna, who helped Okonkwo a lot in his life, and yet he decided to kill him even though Ikemefuna was really close to him. Okonkwo does not care if you are part of his life or not, if you do not satisfy him he will do damage to you.
As they try to express this love they have to hide it as they will be judged by society.it is banned by the government to love and a punishable offense. In todays society celebrates get judged the most. The paparazzi is always harassing them as they try to mock the way they are. The problem with my pseudo thinking is that when it comes time for me to have a response I have no clue what was said during the conversation because the only thing I focused on was the topic of discussion. My defensive listening has put me in bad situations with many people, mostly with my wife, I lash out at people because I feel threatened and with my lack of attention I miss parts of the conversation, and that makes it that much more like I am being attacked. Everyone can increase attention by realizing its importance, avoiding the common tendency to day dream, fighting the tendency to give in to

I feel bad and sad for the victims, because a woman can’t do anything when a man punches her. “Abusers often attempt to control and isolate victims in an effort to guard the secret of abuse and because of their jealously of any attention their partners may give or receive from family, friends, or coworkers” (Gagné 19). Wars have been waged, people have died, and relationships have been destroyed all in the name of freedom from persecution. Even after grotesque amounts of destruction and blood shed just to live a normal life, groups all around the world are still persecuted for their differences by those in society who are ignorant enough to believe that their way of living must be the only correct way to live. Through broadening our mindsets and being open to the possibilities of various styles of proper living, the world’s population can become more unified. Prejudice and racism are a significant part of society, but they can go away in the future through stripping power and meaning from the derogatory words that plague our world and from our parents being more accepting, they can teach us their accepting ways, and through passing acceptance down to future generations, it can be amplified. Prejudice is incurred by the hate we feel towards people whose customs and behaviour differ from our own; the fear of the unknown is the basis of all prejudice.
