At school, teachers and organization leaders are impressed by my time management skills and the amount of responsibility I take on.” Jessica shows her feelings in this essay when her father tells her that her that she does not have to work on the farm anymore, and can be like other kids and take part in school activities. So she gets involved at school, and when she thinks that by getting involved she would fit in, but she is wrong because no matter if she is a “farm girl” or president of the student council, she always goes above and beyond in all her efforts and is committed to them. Jessica puts a lot of details to when she is describing things. She makes me feel as if I’m in the setting, using my five senses. For example, “The delicious smell of smoked bacon and cheese omelets grows more with each step.” Every time she describes her sense of hunger, and reading about it makes me hungry for food.
Sociology is an intriguing subject; learning how people interact in a group opposed to when they are by themselves really opened my eyes to the reality of daily living. I am very grateful for the opportunity, to be able to work while in school and have the accommodations such as working hours and location of work fit right into my schedule. While the area of work and school has worked itself out, I worry now about doing the best I can. Even though I am grateful for everything, it can be overwhelming and a little challenging at times but I have made up my mind and I accept it. Evaluation Without challenges there are no lessons to be learned and without lessons being learned there is no growth.
Understanding Your Learning Process Before now, had you ever really thought about how you learn? I really have not thought about how I learn. In the past, I have realized that my environment plays a part in helping me process information when I am learning something new. If there is a lot of things going on around me such as learning in an unorganized room or an overcrowded room with a lot of people that are noisy, it is hard to process information. I may need to ask the person to repeat themselves to insure that I retained the information.
I recently went to The Dean’s Dialogue” workshop and I was happy I could have attended it. “Every student counts” words I won’t forget from the workshop, it taught me that doesn’t matter what you do, what matters is how you are doing it and where you are going! Every student could be successful for our community; each single student has a different point of view but is always with the same purpose: to become successful in our career. But what do you have to do? Easy!
Internships and Co-ops are rarely detrimental to students because they are so convenient. In the summertime I could get a paid internship to continue learning and practicing what I do during school. Co-ops can be during the school year. They provide a nice break from coursework and would allow me to work during the school year, and a possibly earn academic credit towards my graduation requirements. Internships are as important to the companies as they are to the students because they provide a method of previewing potential new employees before they even begin the interview process or submit an application.
So she decided to teach me extra lessons herself.“(pg. 1) By telling this personal experience he shows the students that he's grateful about his achievements and that he even had the opportunity to make it this far in the first place. The message in this is to show the children that you can achieve great things even though you might have a troubled life. A lot of the children might relate to his personal stories and that can motivate the children into focusing in school and to think about their future. He uses examples in every area of his speech in order for the children to see how they can be more efficient.
|Educ G 203 | |Influential Teacher Paper | |[Michelle May | |17 September 2012] | | | The Teachers that have Impacted My Life As I have gone through the school system, I have met a few teachers who have made an impact on my life. Thanks to their dedication, I have now been inspired to further my education and become a teacher myself. I obviously grew up being in the classroom taught by teachers but since my mom is a speech language pathologist I have also seen school from the teacher’s perspective. For as long as I can remember, I have loved helping her in her classroom. From coloring to lesson plans, I enjoy it all.
Volunteering in the classroom is another way the parent can be involved with their children. A lot of the teacher are grateful for the help in the classroom and welcome the parents who can help out with things like reading to the students and special projects. Being present in your child classroom you allow your child to know how important their education is you and for them. With all the availability of early childhood education across the world, we do not need to question the reason why early childhood education is important. We can see that the benefits are greater than the
As a student at the University of Phoenix working in teams is a big part of my school assignments each week. I have had some really positive experiences but there have been other times when my experiences were not so good. The one consistent problem I seem to have is getting everyone to do their part of the assignment on time or even at all which can be very frustrating at times. When I was younger it was fun to be part of a team and everyone worked together flawlessly but now that I am older it seems harder to get everyone on the same page. Although most of my experiences with working in teams have been positive there have been those few times where they were not so positive.
So, as I meet and greet every student by name each morning they are entering the Mrs. Freeman’s Happy Zone. This makes them feel special and lets them know I am happy they are there for the day. Students know from the very beginning of the year that only positive actions and learning occur in my classroom. There are numerous positive rewards offered in my classroom to encourage active learning. For example, I use a money system where I reward students for correct answers or participation.
