My son Kaleb was born May 24 2008, and from that moment on I wanted to give him everything he deserves. I tried to go back to college right after my son was born, but I had no idea what I wanted to do for my future and taking care of Kaleb wasn't cheap. I was constantly working to pay for the expenses of Kaleb, while paying for the rest of the expenses I had. Finally four years later, I made the best decision I could for my family and that was going back to school. One of the many reasons why I came back was that I did not was to continue being in a factory the rest of my life.
Henry Ford was very famous for promoting this wonderful commodity that represented a new kind of freedom. It was a symbol of the American Dream, and everyone was striving to have the new product. “The automobile was the backbone of economic growth.” The first real automobile appeared in Middletown in 1900; however, it wasn’t until Henry Ford came around and created a mass production of automobiles that the machine that would provide easy travel would become popular. Although the automobile created such a wonderful freedom, many adults thought that it was tearing families apart. Teenagers were spending more time with their friends driving around instead of staying at home with their family.

Before you start going three different adults in the car start telling you what to do next, all that runs through your mind is “Let me do this myself!” even though you know they are saying it for your best interest. Getting your permit and driving with an adult is hard. Now that I have been driving for months it seems like a piece of cake, until my sister wanted me to try to drive her Honda Civic which is manual car.

The TRIO program has done a lot for me, but the greatest thing it has done for me was encouraging me to pursue a career. TRIO has continuously supported my efforts of becoming a better person by showing me that an education for a low-income Hispanic, was not impossible. The TRIO program introduced me to informational workshops such as financial aid workshops and provided university campus tours. The TRIO program has continuously showed me that you do not have to be rich to get an education. One of the biggest concerns is that they encourage students to apply for financial aid.
All in all I realized buying the material you dream of does not necessarily guarantee happiness; sometimes the happiness you imagine turns out to merely be an illusion. Purchasing a car turned out to be very joyous; even after buying my car; the happiness it brought was I couldn’t imagine it. I bought a Toyota Prius in last summer. This car proved to be so useful, because I am working at Millbrae city, so I have to drive an hour away from my house; if I take Bart instead of driving, it would take me two hours to get there, I couldn’t imagine that living without it in someday, and it became my best friend in my life. It has helped me to open up opportunities and has served as one of the greatest tools in my

My childhood experience shaped me into becoming someone who is very interested in education. When I was the age of fifteen, my parents took it as a responsibility to teach me and my brother and sister. My parents started giving me the basic education that I needed to become a responsible individual in life. They urged me to study at night even when I didn’t feel like studying. They didn’t care what it will take them into forcing me to study.
