Abstract: In this study of researching animals and their behaviors, demonstrates the behaviors of sow bugs and their likeness to dry vs. moist and light vs. shade preference. The general hypothesis for this experiment was that the sow bugs would prefer the shade vs. the light, and the moist climate vs. the dry climate. In this experiment, six sow bugs were obtained in a petri dish lined with filter paper that was taped to keep the bugs from escaping. Three different trials were completed by first covering half the petri dish with a piece of construction paper and the other half left uncovered in the presence of light. The second trial completed was covering half the filter paper with drops of water to present moisture, and dry on the other half, both in the presence of light.

Wharton gives the feeling of bitterness and depression by using winter as the setting. One way she gave this feeling is when she referred to the sky as a “sky of iron.” Winter also symbolizes the cold, snow, darkness, isolation and loneliness. We learned early in the book that Ethan wanted to leave and go to a larger town, but that dream of his was never fulfilled. Because of this unfulfilled dream, Ethan gives of a depressed feeling up until he meets Mattie anyways. Death is everywhere in Starkfield.

Homework Section 7.3 Study Questions 6. What is Goldman’s fake barns thought experiment? How does it attempt to undermine the casual theory? Goldman’s fake barns thought experiment is to contradict the fact that justified true beliefs is the best definition for “knowledge”. This example about Henry looking at fake barns makes him believe his is actually driving through a district full of barns, does not make it true knowledge because they are fake barns.
If cloning ever becomes possible, it will be humanity’s decision as to whether or not it is ethical to use them. Like every controversy today, there will never be total agreement. Eejits are another thing that I thought about. The concept of mindless persons used only for slave labor brought to mind the question: What makes a person a person? If a human has their intelligence artificially destroyed and then reprogrammed to only do specific tasks and nothing else, are they still a person, or are they a thing?
He gives specific mentions to candidates running against Marcus, describing unethical actions that they have done in their personal lives. Cicero suggests using that information as ammunition against his opponent and focusing on why the competition would not be a good choice. While this is a great way to convince voters to not vote for somebody, it ends up shedding negative light on both campaigns in question. This is not part of Obama’s campaign because it makes him look desperate and weak. Attacking your opponent with personal insults is simply childish and completely irrelevant to the political issues that need to be solved.
No medical knowledge existed in Medieval England to cope with the disease. After 1350, it was to strike England another six times by the end of the century. Understandably, peasants were terrified at the news that the Black Death might be approaching their village or town. The Black Death is the name given to a disease called the bubonic plague which was rampant during the Fourteenth Century. In fact, the bubonic plague affected England more than once in that century but its impact on English society from 1348 to 1350 was terrible.
In a way it was like the Holocaust, only not as cruel. The trains would travel at night so that when they went by the few pockets of civilization, no one would see the prisoners. Eventually the railroad ended, and prisoners were chained together a forced to march hundreds of miles to their destinations. This fate was not shared by all though, only the most remote (and therefore deadliest) camps required this forced march. Many perished before they even found out where they were going
Just Walk on By has not related to the ABC video of “No English, No Service” in any way whatsoever, in my opinion. The memoir was more detailed on wrongful discrimination in skin color and setting, while the video contained more of discrimination at the marketplace. Where ever immigrants go, they undergo discrimination, which completely contradicts America’s original purpose. In summary, Us, Americans, are ignorant and too quick on assumptions in total. We should not be labeling individuals as illegal, seeing that contradicts America’s very original purpose.
