DESCRIPTIVE STATISTICS Descriptive Statistics RES 341 April 11, 2010 University of Phoenix Descriptive Statistics Descriptive statistics are the tabular, graphical, and numerical summaries of research data (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2010). The purpose of descriptive statistics is to facilitate the presentation and interpretation of said data (Encyclopedia Britannica, 2010). In week three, Team B collected data from peer-reviewed articles related to home pricing. The goal was to solidify the data needed to address the problem statement posed in week two regarding whether home pricing in a declining housing market is only affected by the location, age, and size of a home. The data that was found as a result of the research done in week three by Team B can now be analyzed to draw conclusions of the research. The process will help provide a better understanding of the data that was found and will aid in the determination of what can be expected of the housing market in the near future. Central tendency, dispersion, and skew for data The research data collected by Team B is depicted below in tabular form representing the central tendency, dispersion and skew of the data.
