Fallyn Dionisopoulos Dr. Garcia MUS 186 05 October 2012 For my Internet project, I chose the country music genre. I focused on modern, or contemporary, country music. I made this choice solely because it is my favorite genre of music and I knew most, if not all, of the artists and songs that fall under this category. I think it was published here because multiple country music songs include ideas about God, which would attract the attention of Christians. It points out all of the materialistic items that modern country artists sing about and says that traditional country fans have every right to complain about it. The browser can find out what materialistic things are mentioned in a song that is considered to be a good modern country tune. Browsers can also add commentary at the end of the article. Most of the people who wrote comments agreed with the article’s main ideas. The author is clearly very critical of country music because throughout the entire article only negative aspects of the genre are mentioned. The blogger says modern country music is very different than the music of older artists, such as Johnny Cash, because now rather than being led by instruments, the vocals are carrying the music.
