Why was cavour more successful than Mazzini in uniting most of the Italy? Cavour and Mazzini were both an important role in the history of the Italy as they both important in unification of the Italy.Cavour was the primeminister of Italy who was able to unite Italy under piedmont by 1871.this paper will analyse further more about cavour more successful than Mazzini in uniting in Italy. The first reason was diplomatic relation in uniting most of the Italy than Mazzini.the victory of magneta and solferino became the witness of diplomatic significance set up by cavour and Napoleon 3.With the help of france,cavour enable to excluded Austria. At the end,the treaty of villafrance, as resulted the historic cession of Lombardy to piedmont. Therefore,the result that noneof the previous Italians leaders could ever achieve including Mazzini. He also received a supporter from german since they offered to get back venetia for piedmont,the 7weeks war. The French victory in helping popepius ix to regain his position in rome in 1849 leading to dreams for unification blown away. This is clear that diplomatic strategy applied by cavour had made him more successful than Mazzini. On the other hand,Mazzini was not success because of he disliked cavour’s policy that believed the Italians should act their own account. He only relied on popular support in Italy but failed to win the support from church followers,pope pius. Due to his reluction to cooperate with foreign, Mazzini refuse having diplomatic relationwith france made him as a failure to unite the Italy. The second reason cavour more successful than Mazzini in uning Italy was cavour’s personalities and the leadership quality that displayed to piedmont to contributed to uniting of Italy. He was born from a wealthy family and he climbed himself toglory to become the leading nationalist figure in the whole of the Italy.
