Cascade Simulation Reflection Paper Name: Jun Huang Prof. Cleveland BMGT 364 Date: 10/03/2013 Our team was excited as we received this group work. The situation was that a group of friends and I rented a cabin in the Cascade mountain in hopes of enjoying a weekend. But a heavy snowfall came and blanketed the ground as we looked out the windows in the morning. Worse yet, the storm was expected to last for four or five days, informed by the radio weather report. Because of shortage of supplies for longer sustain, we decided to use the cabin’s CB radio to send for a chartered helicopter. While we were airborne the storm began to worsen and crashed eventually. The given conditions were that the pilot was, we left our gear behind due to the helicopter’s weight limitations, and icy wind quickly ripped through our clothing though we were dress heavily. There were a few things aboard which may help sustain the people, we had to think how to survive. Our task was to rank the 12 items according to their importance to survival. First, rank them individually, then discuss with the team, and reconsider the 12 items again as a team. Our team score was 34. As a team, we ranked flares as the most important, second hatchet, third rifle, fourth lighter, fifth ball of twine, sixth one pair of snowshoes, seventh single blade pocket knife, eighth flashlight, ninth sedative, tenth fishing line and hooks, eleventh cooking pot, one set of cross-country ski equipment as last. In our team, we had two females and four males. As best I can infer, no one in our team has expertise in this field, and everyone has different opinions in ways of survival under this circumstance. Some members in the team were suggesting getting help from the publics is the priority in this case, that is also the reason why we all came down to the result of flares as the most important, although some of us
