Brussels and Bradshaw Case Study In the case an intern, Audrey Locke has completed her summer internship as Brussels and Bradshaw Investment bank (B&B). Audrey will be face with her final performance review where she know whether she will or not be offered fulltime employment following her graduation. During the summer she had little training, no mentorship, and worked tireless hours with no praise, she was very frustrated, hurt and bitter about the whole experience. As investment banking evolved, these institutions grew both in size and in importance, resulting in many of the largest players operating in multiple countries. Currently, most investment banks offered commercial and investment banking services, which diversified their risk and product offering an increasingly complex and competitive environment. (Hitt, Miller, Colella, p. 278). The way we have looked at organizations is that they are social structures or architectural form. Organizations described by tasks, power, hierarchy, and endurance. Organizational theory has focused on other characteristics, such as culture and social learning. With increasing organization size, organization’s managers are limited to flexibility of individual work, how much authority delegation, and emphasis on results rather than the work performed on a daily basis. Key organizational behaviors issues evident in the Locke/Brussels & Bradshaw case include the organizational design of the firm, employees’ span of control, job requirements, and the work environment.
