They develop a growing interest in rules, logic about purpose and how things function, their surroundings, socialization, and the history of their community. I. Purpose: A. Students will be able to associate illustration with the given lesson. B. Students will be able to identify wildlife and their abilities to cohabitate in the community park. C. Students will be able to classify animals and plants into individual kingdoms. D. Students will be able create math problems from collected acorns. II. Procedure: A. Introduction: To introduce a science and math aspect to the lesson, I would refer to the Boy with a Squirrel painting by Henry Pelham. First, I would ask the students thought provoking questions about the painting, such as why the squirrel appears to be the boy’s pet and where a squirrel would typically live. B. Development: C.
