The Poudre School District Early childhood program at Kruse Elementary School is where I decided to do my observation. It is a preschool classroom with children between the ages of 3-5 years old (Play Years). There is a total of 16 students, one lead teacher, a paraprofessional and a speech therapist. I began my observation at 8:50 am when the children were beginning to arrive in class. From the very beginning a four year old boy I will call John, came right into the classroom, put his lunch bag on the book shelf and then went directly to his cubby where he took of his coat and placed it on the hook.
ESL_523N | Rationale Essay | Ada Berry | | Instructor: D. Imlay Hatcher | 7/10/2013 | | In my practicum I observed a fifth grade class who had a veteran teacher as the instructor. It was a 5th grade elementary school class at a Title One school. These students were in summer school because they had to make 5-2.1 SC standards improvements. The teacher took the lesson directly from the state standards and incorporated instructional implementations for ELLs. The students were preparing for the next school term that will start back in the latter part of August.

Many games are flexible across devices; if it's labeled "online game," "mobile," and "interactive whiteboard" it can be played all three of those ways, but parents can and should check the game descriptions. To play a mobile game, parents will need to download a free app to a mobile device and possibly lend their phone or tablet to their 3- to 8-year-old to play. Interactive whiteboard games are effective for teachers to use in their classrooms but some can also be played online Kids can learn preschool and early elementary math and literacy skills with games aligned to state and national standards. Detailed audio and visual tutorials teach kids how to play, and tasks increase in difficulty as they master the levels of each game. With a researched-based approach, parents and teachers can be confident in the quality of the games.

For this assignment I am going to write about how I would handle in-class and out-of- class activities in a 10th grade special education math class. The typical day in my school has six 50 minute classes with 5 minute passing periods and an extended 4th hour to accommodate lunch. Since there are multiple students in multiple classes keeping everything organized is very important to a successful classroom. With that being said, the first activity I would like to touch base on is turning in assignments. In-Class Activities Activity 1: Turning in assignments This is a daily activity that allows the students to turn in their work with appropriate headings so I can accurately compute their grades.

For the interview project I spoke with Jessica Flynn a US history and AP Comparative Governments and Politics teacher at Greenwich High School. She has been teaching at Greenwich High School for two years now.
