David St.Clair Ms. Ormsby English 1010-109 31 March 2010 Jesters In a small, dark, smoke filled room, resembling that of a dungeon, comedians pour out their hearts and soles on stage desperately seeking the approval of all patrons. Many comedians regurgitate life’s trials and errors in an amusing fashion. Jim Norton and Dane Cook are two comedians that showcase their life experiences in a comedic light. Jim Norton has enjoyed the opportunities of having his own H.B.O. special.
You are seeing him on talk and TV shows. He did a sold out concert at The Madison Square Garden, which is unheard of especially for a comedian. His name stays in everyone’s mouth in the entertainment world because of his great success. Katt Williams just needs to stay out of trouble! He also needs to have that same focus that he once had that made him want to become a comedian.
I heard laughing and giggling as they all made fun of him, he was not afraid or embarrassed he simply shut the world out, one of his many talents. I watched as he sat down and cracked his knuckles and took a deep breathe. He surprised the whole school as he played the piece, “Johnny C. Badd”. I remember looking around feeling proud and full of happiness because my brother had showed everyone up, not only with teaching himself piano but being
This can be interpreted as Ron’s way of “coming out of the closet” and embracing his identity as a gay, black male. Even though Ron has a lot of status through the play, he also seems to have put on a permanent mask for the outside world while falling out of his roots as an African American. At the start of the play when the family was partying, and eating food yet Ron was not interested because his paper had taken priority over family time. Also on the eve of Nat Turner’s rebellion as Turner was getting the
“The protesters were great to us, even though they were yelling at us,” he said, noting that it’s rare for a taping to go so completely off the rails that the skit has to be scrapped. Even Mary Walsh’s now-infamous driveway ambush of Toronto Mayor Rob Ford made it to air. Sarah Shoucri, a native Montrealer who made an appearance in the Bell Centre sketch as a helpful bystander who attempts to bridge the language gap between Majumder and a protester (in Arabic), said the experience taught her that comedy is always hit-and-miss. “There were people who were really over the top,” Shoucri recalled. “One man just came up to the microphone and started gesticulating and he monologued for about three minutes.” Majumder, however, apparently thrives on this kind of challenge.
Whether it's a sports fantasy league or the latest video game, men enjoy experiencing the risk of fantasies of their imaginations. I chose to profile Jaguars Gold Club because it is a well-known strip club here in El Paso. It is a place where men can get away and live a sensual legal fantasy. Many soldiers I work with share the similar story. Specialist Lockwood said when he goes to the strip club, he makes up an identity for himself and enjoys the easy talk.
My favorite characters were the dynamic duo, Cogsworth and Lumiere. Whenever either one of them or both of them waltzed onto the stage, I knew there would be laughter rippling through the audience. Another hilarious character was Lefou. The actor played a convincing role as Gaston’s henchman and doesn’t mind getting beat up a couple of times. The voices of the main characters, Belle and the Beast were amazing!
Act 2 to me almost felt like it was a live comedy from beginning to end. It went very smoothly in my opinion as I felt that it was written much better than Act 1. Act 2 also held my interest extremely well because now you (the audience) were able to put it together with Act 1, and it made a pretty strong impact on how fast the world moves today. It also showed the significant problems with Internet dating. What a mess that must be, thank God that, that route never entered my mind.
The big draw, however, are all movies provide some measure of escape from reality. Some of the most successful movies advance the cause of life, its meaning and reveal everyday heroes among us. Charlie Chaplin was one such individual to have an idea to capture on film. Due to the exaggerated presentation of characters and their actions, language, relationships, and situations, most of his work has been aptly categorized accordingly as comedies. Yet, upon closer observation we find how he masterfully intertwines the plight of our social condition in many of his films without ever uttering a sound.
You can't be angry while laughing. Even if I'm the maddest I can possibly be, if someone can get me laughing I'll feel better. The phrase “class clown” is well known, everyone has had a class clown. They are just the funniest person in your class, they make any situation, good or bad a funny one. Imagine if your life was the same old routine everyday, (which it probably is), but the only difference was that you’d have no “class clown” at work/school to lighten the day up, or to never see some person fart at an inappropriate time.
