Better Sex Education in Schools

We need better sex education in schools now days. Young boys and girls are starting to hit puberty at a younger age than before. They need to be informed of the dangers that sex can inflict on their lives. There are more and more teenagers getting pregnant each and every year. Young girls and boys are starting to hit puberty at a younger age than ever before. It has been proven that hormones in the food we eat have a big contribution in girls hitting puberty at such a young age. 50 percent of African American girls have begun pubertal development at the age of 8 years, while only 15 percent of Caucasian girls had begun pubertal development at the same age. Ten years ago the average age of hitting puberty was around 11-15 years old, now days some girls are hitting puberty as early as 8 and 9 as I mentioned earlier. Our bodies are evolving and have been changing over time. With all the new medication that scientist are coming out with, the chemicals inside react with our body’s in more ways than we know and realize. The medication we are given is expanding our life expectancy a great deal. Chemicals in the medication react with our natural body chemicals causing a change in the hormonal balance; as a result kids are hitting puberty earlier on in their adolescent stage of growth and development. Young girls and boys also need to be informed about the dangers of sex. There is tons of STD’s being created and developed that not even scientists know exist. Having multiple sex partners place you at a higher risk of catching an STD than someone with only one sex partner. Many STD’s are asymptomatic when you are first infected, when having multiple sex partners it can easily be spread to each one. Catching an STD can be life threatening, depending on the type; it can cause infertility, be cancerous, cause birth defects in a baby (if you were to get pregnant), and also can
