Bikini Bottom Research Paper Throughout time, the woman's body has always been viewed as a sacred part of society. Artistically, the female body has played the role as a muse for countless master pieces. Politically, the rights of what can and can't be done against it have been debated over for centuries, and socially its limits as the discretion of exposure of it have been morally shifted as well. One way the female body's image has been radically tailored through constant social waves of influence is through bathing suit fashion, specifically the history of the bathing suit bottom. Fashion at this time for swim suits was more conservative and against the promotion of sex appeal but, rather sophistication and classical elegance. This era was heavily influenced by everyday conservative social pressures and influences to be of a certain level of class as well as the revolution of then popular household sitcom "Leave it to Beaver" which showcased and valued above all the worth of modesty in all aspects of life, including fashion. This wild fire spread of modesty themed lifestyle held strong til about the mid 1960's hippie "free love" movement came along. This was the start of physical liberation from society's constraining conservative beliefs of one's body image. This is when women began to express themselves freely. Before this time women were always subordinate to men. living in the image of what the man wanted, as opposed to themselves. Which has not completlely not gone away, til this very day women are under men. We've become so desensitized to sexual appeal due to abundant and ample exposure that now we've taken a neurotic turn towards ourselves rather than a positive outward perspective, but alas body image and the media is another tornado in a bottle all its
