I need to speak up when I know an answer to a question. I need to ask questions if I don’t know the answers and not worry about what people might think of my question. I need to be put on the spot to get up in front of a room full of people to speak, demonstrate, and answer questions they may have in reference to what I have just discussed or demonstrated. I feel like I am as prepared as I know how to be for school. I will be able to look at a situation and decide-Why do we do this, what impact does this have on my patients. If something is done because that is how it has always been done, is there a true need for it, if it has no bearing on the patient outcome, it may not be necessary, and may free up time to focus on issues that do make a difference. I will be able to use evidence from nursing research to incorporate change, if not for an entire organization, at least I can put the research to use that can make a difference for how I care for my patients. Nursing research is a continually changing field; bring us healthcare providers with the cutting-edge evidence to provide optimum care to my patients. The nursing education of each nurse receives helps them to establish their philosophy.
