This indicates that Paul’s happiness is just what he thinks: a fairy tale, imaginary, a dream, an illusion, something that is not real. Another example of Paul’s addiction to art appears on page 128. “What he wanted was to see, to be in the atmosphere, float on a wave of it, to be carried out, blue league after blue league, away from everything” (Willa 128) Paul is using music to escape his everyday life and to fill himself with this fake “happiness”. He does not feel accepted in reality. So Paul has to create a reality where he consumes himself with art and where he feels accepted.
It would then be easy to assume that anything different wouldn’t be considered art. So then is it safe to say that because Banksy’s street work isn’t in a museum, it isn’t art? - Or that the designers on Project Runway aren’t artists because they are not performing to an eloquent ballad? As it turns out, the debate between ‘high art’ versus ‘low art’ has an underlying argument regarding ‘art’ versus ‘non-art’. Art is simply one’s emotions, ideas, or beliefs expressed through a particular talent or skill.
Students can be taught what is appropriately creative in order to guide them to the enhancement of their creative intelligences. Then, if the students still need to learn math and science, they can more easily with the creativity and confidence regarding their abilities that they pick up in the arts. Both types of intelligences use one another in order serve a better purpose in the greater scheme of things. So they cannot really be compared because what one discipline deems important, the other may not and so on. We as humans cannot compare r individual accomplishments amongst ourselves to others in accomplishments because everyone is coming from different circumstances.
Only after close examination does it become apparent that there is a contribution from several bright colors. In this abstract expressionist work, there is no sense of where the light is coming from; there is no sense of volume thereby making it a flat painting. The brush work appears to be uncontrolled; it seems very painterly and not academic. There is no focus point in the work. The chaos makes the eyes jump around in order to get a full sense of the entire work.
On the other end of the spectrum, if the film is not a prank, then we are drawn more toward what was trying to be said through the actual storyline of the film, instead of possible motives of those involved in creating it. The ideas proposed in the storyline are things like the significance and meaning of art, how things become canonical or just popular among a mass audience, and even what it is that makes an artist a meaningful creator of art. First looking at street art altogether is in itself a controversial matter. This is because a portion of the population sees this as no art form at all, but instead it
Showing himself to get caught up in the fear of stereotypes, attributing their response to his skin color. Because he feels that they are stereotyping him based on the color of his skin, he allows himself to get upset over these situations rather than understand them 2. Staples employs a large number of examples in a fairly small space. How does he avoid having the piece soundlike a list? How does he established COHERENCE among all these examples?
Symbolism in “The Cask of Amontillado” The symbolism throughout Edgar Allen Poe’s “The Cask of Amontillado” constantly pair similar ideas that contradict each other. The characters are unaware of the symbolic details in conversations or events that occur throughout the story. The reader may find him/her self siding with Montresor since we have all been insulted at one time or another, but that doesn’t constitute revenge to the point of killing a person. Literature containing symbolism can be interpreted or viewed differently by the reader. Poe put much effort and thought into the details of his literature, he painted a descriptive picture for the reader matter how dark and dreary.
Both art works have a bright and a dark colour. Both paintings are uncommon and that is why people are attracted to observe them. When a person stares at these works he or she is wondering why. Why does this artist use these perfect cycles to express herself? What do these polka dots mean?
Some shapes are solid while others are sketchy, making the viewer feel indecisive about their mood. Could this have been what Kandinsky was trying to get across to the audience? Did he want everyone to feel the same emotion? Could these shapes of lines and color create a deeper mood or revelation? Black Lines is Kandinsky’s first true non-objective painting.
Keenan 1 Harry Keenan Dr. Millar ENGL 1102-8 12 March 2012 Power of Music Being an artist can be tough. Some people do not take artists seriously, and others are constantly critiquing their material. But, if an artist is good at what they do, be it filmmaking or painting, they are left alone. However, in some cases, such as in Steve Lopez's The Soloist, the artist's well being is constantly in question by other characters. If we analyze Nathaniel Ayer, we can see that true artists are misunderstood by society.
