In this paper I will compare and contrast the nature of morality and life goals between Islam and Christianity, as they both pertain to Abraham. I will also compare and contrast his roles within the teaching of moral instructions in both religions. According to both Christianity and Islam Abraham is the “father “of these religions. (Abraham-101, 2012). Abraham is very important to both Christianity and Islam. He is a crucial individual in the history of Jewish, Christian, and Arabic people. He was the great-grandfather of Judah, whose descendants were Jewish, and he was the father of Ishmael, from whom many Arabic people are descended. Abraham was not Jewish or Arabic which is strange since he is an ancestor of both. Abraham was a Hebrew, which is where Christianity traces their origin from. First I will explain his story from the Quran, which refers to Abraham as a prophet. The Quran does not speak of when or how Abraham received his calling from God; just simply that he was a young man. Abraham’s father worshiped many gods; the Quran states that his father told Abraham if he didn’t worship the same gods he would be stoned. Abraham asked his father why he worshiped idols that could not talk, hear, or see. Abraham tried to get his father to change his beliefs, it didn’t work. He then turned to others and also asked them to change their ways. From the Quran; “And recite to them the story of Abraham. When he said to his father and his people: “What do you worship?” They said: “We worship idols, and to them we are ever devoted.” He said: “Do they hear you, when you call (on them)? Or do they benefit you or do they harm (you)?” They said: “Nay, but we found our fathers doing so.” He said: “Do you observe that which you have been worshipping, you and your ancient fathers? Verily! They are enemies to me, save the Lord of all that exists; who has created me and it
