The series revolves around the life of Adrian Monk, a private detective who helps San Francisco Police Department, his previous employers solving murder cases. Known as the defective detective among the department, Monk’s attention to detail, amazing mindset and photogenic memory helps him solve a record number of cases for the police department. Adrian Monk is helped along the way by Sharona Fleming, his nurse at the beginning who ends up becoming his first assistant. After Sharona got married and moved to New Jersey, Monk starts working with Natalie Teeger as his assistant. While on the case, Monk is supervised by Captain Leland Stottlemeyer, who in the beginning doesn’t like the way monk operates, but then eases on as the series progresses.
Growing up Harry noticed something different about Dexter. Around the age of 15 Harry found out the Dexter was killing the neighborhood pets, and wild animals. When Harry confronted Dexter about this, Dexter told Harry that he kills animals because he has urges to kill humans but takes the urges out on the animals instead. Large amounts of criminal who have committed offenses do not think about the consequences of their action (Brown, 2007). Today’s society has determined that the root of why an individual would choose to commit crimes is steam from the lack of education and impoverished backgrounds (Brown, 2007). His crimes became legendary because of the bizarre content in the letters that he wrote to the police and the media and his reasons for committing the attacks. With the police feeling the pressure to catch the killer, "Operation Omega" was formed, which was comprised of over 200 detectives; all working on finding the Son of Sam before he killed again.
