LifeNews.com. If you were terminally ill, suffering, and watching your family suffer, would you want your final breath to be sooner rather than later? Many terminally ill patients do, and will take matters into their own hands. When this happens, society calls is suicide. However, if a doctor or another individual assists in the suicide, it is then considered murder.
According to him, 99% would rather be imprisoned for life than sentenced to the death penalty. Sir James Fitzjames Stephen, as cited in Haags argument says, "Some men, probably, abstain from murder because they fear that if they committed murder they would be hanged. Hundreds of thousands abstain from it because they regard it with horror. One great reason why they regard it with horror is that murderers are hanged”. In the article titled “The Folly of Capital Punishment”, Jeffrey Reinam concludes that capital punishment is immoral to our society; and thus, should not be legalized.
I am in the same side with Autumn Buzzell that euthanasia is wrong and should be banned. Buzzell thinks that active euthanasia is a form of murder. I think so, while someone's life is taken by a lethal injection though he/she is in a terminally ill condition, it just another form of murder. We
Seldom people deliberately set out to breed disquiet for themselves, but in spite of good intentions. Countless make poor decisions resulting in them paying a bitter price. In the case of performing homicide, there is a extensive debate on the death penalty’s decorum and allure of it’s implementation. It’s efficiency, equality, morality, productivity, clemency, constitutionality and implementation overall are dissensions that have been elements of the larger query of is the death penalty acceptable to be utilized? I have concluded that the death penalty is erroneous and incongruous in society today.
There are many misguided individuals in our society and it would be safer if they had less access to guns. Joe Messerli from BalancedPolitics.org says, “Suicides and crimes of passion are higher with gun availability, as it's much easier to act immediately on your impulses when a gun is available.” This is very true, Save.com states, “that over 30,000 Americans commit suicide each year.” The suicide rate is very high and it grows every year. Gun control will strengthen the laws of owning firearms and the number of firearms made. There will be a reduction in violent crime and robbery of any kind. Background checks and mental screening would
Clayton DeMond Ms. Smith AP English 12 03 Nov 2010 Is suicide justifiable? Do you think you would end your life just to escape a world which you dont believe in? Now this it may seem a little extreme to some, but to those in Bradbury’s Fahrenheit 451 view it as an escape from the lies and greed that controls their world. The reason for such extreme actions to take place is because of society which on the outside seems like a perfect utopia but on the inside of this society we find a monotonous, uneducated, "dead" state of existence, which promotes depression. In this "perfect" society suicide is much much more common than it is in our world.
In modern society the concept of guilt is commonly misinterpreted for fear. For example in today's society people of conscience may fear that a poor person might die on the streets. However fear is present but their is more guilt towards the homeless person. In Macbeth the same events happen, from Macbeth thinking Banquos ghost is just a fear of his, and it was made by the witches, he chooses to ignore it however Macbeth makes the crucial mistake of the misjudgement of fear and guilt. Macbeth seeing Banquos ghost is not his fear but his guilt over killing his best friend.
To examine this issue one should look at the following: Firstly, I would love to see the death rates in Alcohol related deaths go down drastically. The U.S has the highest drinking age in the world and it has been estimated to have saved 17,000 lives. More people would get to live till their oldest. Secondly, the highest deaths among teens are road crashes, and 2 out of the 5 teens had been drinking. Thirdly, how would you feel driving to your child’s funeral knowing it could have been prevented?
Indeed, more people in this country kill themselves with guns than with all other intentional means combined, including hanging, poisoning or overdose, jumping, or cutting.” (Drexler, 2013). There have been cases of teenagers and young adults taking their lives with parents guns or even buying them for themselves. Guns are very dangerous if you do not know how to use them properly, and lead to a lot of deaths because of accident too. Knowing how to properly use a gun would be a very helpful technique unless you have a history of mental illness/stability. The Workthreat Group posted an article online about similar issues, “You don’t need to submit to a background check to buy a gun, of course.
Legalization of Euthanasia Euthanasia should be legalized to a certain extent. To most of the people around the globe who hold an opinion on this matter such as students, doctors and even politicians, euthanasia may somewhat be a matter of a hot debate. But for the terminally ill, death is a looming certainty to be dealt with, and therefore euthanasia is comparatively a vital concern for them. Taking this into consideration and on the basis of morality of the issue, it can evidently be said that the positives of euthanasia clearly outweigh the negatives and therefore it should be legalized, although not completely, but to a certain extent. .
