Yeast Culture Lab Report Yeast Culture Lab Report Yoli Kalkofen June 23, 2014 Introduction Reproduction, consumption, and death in population are expected events of life on earth. Organisms reproduce in different ways and their environment has a lot to do with how they will adapt through the generations in order to survive. Consumption is the trading for energy between organisms through the food chain. Death in populations can start as species experience problems during reproduction and survival rates decreases. Death can be widespread in a species due to environmental issue or threats from their environment. Data counts of death sin a population gives researches information that can potentially help other species. The yeast lab looks at four different yeast samples and puts them in different scenarios on specific time intervals. The purpose and importance of the lab is to find out what contributes to yeast growth and how to manage it. The hypothesis is that if the American diet continues to promote sugary goods, then it can be expected women’s health can be compromised by an increase in yeast infections. Diets high in sugar can potentially cause reactions in women within 48-72 hours. An alternative to decreasing sugar can be in the introduction of yeast-eating microbes through medication. Material and Methods Material used for the project were the University of Phoenix Materials: Lab Report Outline, Yeast Lab Worksheet, and Yeast Lab Spreadsheet (University of Phoenix, 2014). The steps necessary to complete the experiment started with counting the spores on the worksheet. I used office equipment to assist in the process. I printed the worksheet in tabloid size paper and then counted each section at a time. For the areas that had more spores, I divided the areas to make it easier to count. After coming up with the
